Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are items ever taken off the PRATT list?

By way of example, Internet scientists like to bring up how, in Leviticus 14, lepers were prescribed the blood of certain avian dinosaurs being an effective antidote; as an example of medical ignorance due to religion.

Despite repeated efforts to show them that they are already cured of the leprosy beforehand, the item still remains on the PRATT list.

So, is the PRATT list ever edited to delete items, or does it just keep getting bigger and bigger?

(Note: the purpose of this thread is not to discuss items that belong on the PRATT list, it is to discuss items that don't belong on the PRATT list.)

PRATT = Point Refuted A Thousand Times

You are right, the bird's blood and lambs and other mumbo jumbo are for "cleansing" someone pronounced cured of leprosy after being shut in for 7 -14 days. Of course leprosy is incurable without modern multiple antibotic therapy so it must not be leprosy they are talking about.
Some of the description sounds like boils or perhaps tinea corpus or tinea versicolor or maybe even vitiligo (the white spots). 14 days of observation is pretty useless for leprosy which developes over years.
The next part about leprosy on the walls shows that the King James translators mistranslated something like mildew or mold into leprosy. Either that or the Hebrews were really confused about leprosy. Microbacterium Leprae does not grow as a colored deposit on walls.

I'm not interested in what you think grew on walls in the Old Testament.

I'm interested to know if anything has been edited off the PRATT list.

It certainly wasn't leprosy so your King James Bible has that wrong.
I'm interested to know if anything has been edited off the PRATT list.
I have seen this brought up by creationists, including Fairytale Fred Williams, as evidence for some advanced medical knowledge of the ancient Hebrews, since hyssop has some disinfectant properties but that is bogus because it is useless against leprosy or most other skin infections and as you point out the person is already cured.

I can show you creationist PRATT lists on many different creationist websites. Please point us to a list of arguments against creationism that consists entirely of points refuted a thousand times and we can take the discussion from there. Until then I will just say

"What PRATT list?"

Thanks for stopping by.

I guess we each have our own way of boosting our post counts, don't we?

Isn't that the point of the list? That it has been and continues to be refuted and therefore is a bad argument.

Things can only be removed from the list during the semi-annual meeting of the PRATT society, and then, only if a quorum is present and 2/3 + 1 of those present vote in the affirmative.
Almost sounds like how Pluto was demoted: 32.
