I have been praying for a friend at work who has been going through some tough things and living a unhappy life. I have been as a friend counseling her through many of these things and have seen some progress. This has been a three month long process but in all that time the oppertunity has not been there to share the gospel with her. Partly because of my life and spiritual well-being and secondly I only see her at work.
Anyways ... today the opertunity came. For a hour I shared to her about God's love for us. We went from creation to the end and talked a lot about the cross and what kind of God would love people that much to do that. For an hour we went through the gospel and what we were created for and why we were created and why Christ died for us.
I was totally blown away. She accepted what was being said although she did not make a desicion. One of the things that blew me away is that I though that I was not ready yet to share the gospel with others, that my life was not good enough. I tell you that once I started talking the Spirit took off with my toung for the rest of the time. I have never heard me share the gospel with so much love before and portray how deep and vast the love of God must be to love us!
The kicker here is that she is hindu and I could see in her eyes that what God was saying to her was real. The wheels were turning.
So praise God for that! And here is where I would appreciate your prayers. Pray that the seed that was planted will fall on rich soil and that it will start to grow. I invited her to church, pray that she will accept. I gave her my sisters phone number to call and talk to (there are things that I can not help her with in her life and so she has my sisters number to talk about those things), pray that she will call it and that my sister will be able to water the seed that has been planted.
Another thing ... don't write yourself off. When you least expect it, and you are willing, God can move a mountain with you. Or better yet let you be part of a soul coming to know our sweet Lord and Savior!
