Jade blinked, looking up at the sky. Jason's back. It wasn't some sort of mental call or witchcraft. It was instinct. She half smiled, watching the two bicker and snap at each other. They were an interesting pair.

Chrissy sat on the bench, watching as Mike and Alex messed with Kate. She always secretly supposed that Mike had a bit of a crush on Kate, ya know, the whole humiliate the girl you like. Guys had never done that to her though. Being a cheerleader, she had always ha a date to everything. Except the Spring Fling. She had no one now. Perhaps it was just a coinsidence, but ever since she started seeing into their minds, guys haven't asked her out. Maybe she'd just stay home with Chuck. No, no she couldn't do that. Her father hadn't been the same ever since...

She knew he missed her mother, but she hated his way of showing. Drinking, not working, the abussive behavior. Sometimes she'd lie awake at night and just wish she could run away.

She looked up as the boys left Kate's bench and started heading her way. She quickly popped a piece of gum into her mouth, fingered her hair, and pulled down her big sunglasses. Ready or not boys, here I am!!!

Jason looked up suddenly, it almost felt like a feather brushed his mind.

He got up off the swing and walked towards a girl sitting on the bench reading a manga comic.

I think I know her..

Jason smiled as he walked up to her.

"This isn't a pick-up line.." He grinned. "But, don't I know you from somewhere?"

When she looked up at him, it clicked.

"Ah, you're that cheerleader, Chrissy right?" He played with his hat. "Manga eh? I've read a few of those.."Paradise Kiss", "Alichino", "Angel Sanctuary"." He listed them off.

"Good stuff." He smiled.

((Hahahaha! That's what I was thinking too, but hey, if the cheerleader is reading manga too, rock on. Manga and anime is becoming very popular in mainstream American culture, so maybe all the popular kids are doing it too. *laughs some more* GG, you are genius! Loved that last line..."Laughs, laughs, and laughs more." For some reason that was really funny to me.))

Chrissy had sat down on the bench and noticed a book on it. She picked it up and began to flip through the pages. It was totally backwards!!!!
That's just stupid!!

"This isn't a pick-up line.. But, don't I know you from somewhere?"

She looked up at him.

"Ah, you're that cheerleader, Chrissy right?" He played with his hat. "Manga eh? I've read a few of those.."Paradise Kiss", "Alichino", "Angel Sanctuary"." He listed them off.

"Good stuff." He smiled.

She looked down at the book in her hand and tossed it back onto the bench like it was the plague.

"Ew... that book!!! No way. I don't know what the heck it is, but it definetly is not kmine!!"

She couldn't be seen with that kind of stuff, geek stuff ((in her opinion, not mine!!!)), freek garbage.

"But you look familiar too... who are you???"

"whatever u say dude! (ha ha) but than who r u gonna take to the dance? I'm thinking maybe Amber or Courtney. The chances of them saying no to me r high so I also have back up girls. Linda or Donna. But the chances of them going with me r slightly higher.

"Nah," Mike said, dismissing the question with a wave of his hand. "You know what she'd say. 'I have better things to do than go to a glorified mosh pit.' Actually, mosh pits are kinda fun. Betcha she's never been to a rock concert." He stopped short of suggesting taking her to one.

Jenny sighed. No fights or craziness were breaking out like she kind of hoped would. She was now bored. Opening her bag, she pulled out her cell and sent a quick text to Grace again.

"Where are you, crazy woman?" she mumbled to herself, although a couple of squirrels that happened to be scampering by stopped and gave her a funny look before continuing on their way. Jenny just rolled her eyes a little at them as she stuffed her cell back into her bag, along with her manga.

After standing up and daintily brushing herself off, Jenny headed off toward her friend's house, walking close enough by the other students, but only for a moment. She didn't hear anything interesting anyway.
