Powerful echoes from eternity

Dear saints, I trust that the Lord had been keeping and prospering you. This is not a cosmology or creationism thread, but I’d like to narrate an incident in which three Scientists detected gravitational waves from the “big bang“ billions of years ago (in 2017, they were awarded the Nobel prize for that discovery: Opinion | Learning From Gravitational Waves). This was as if they were hearing from a distant past, i.e., eternity (Ecclesiastes 3:11). When we hear the Lord’s voice, we need to realize that the same voice had been speaking even before creation (Psalm 19:1). It so happens that we’re just hearing Him now.

Let’s look at some of the ways God’s voice had been echoing from the past, and how we detect “His Master’s Voice.” In Revelation 1:15 the Apostle John likens the voice of the Lord Jesus to “rushing waters” (the roar of a waterfall). This was no longer the voice of the meek and mild “Son of Man”, but a powerful echo from another time and era, from the Creator Himself (Colossians 1:16). The Apostle simply couldn’t recognize Him who was speaking (Revelation 1:13-14), because this wasn’t the Jesus he knew, but the Omnipotent Son of God who always existed, the great “I am” (Exodus 3:14, John 8:58). What followed was a revelation/prophecy of that which was to come (Revelation 1:19). Powerful echoes and sounds from eternity always herald of powerful things to come.

God’s voice and our detection depend on our relationship with the Lord, and not on Him. In John 10:27-30 the Lord Jesus describes how only the true sheep and redeemed saints of God hear His voice. The Lord Jesus Himself always heard from God the Father (John 11:42) not just because He’s the ancient of days (Daniel 7:1-14), but because He was in a right relationship with our heavenly Father (Hebrews 5:7).

God’s resounding echoes from eternity have long been resonating even before creation. Our ability to detect His universe bending voice depends on our relationship with the Almighty in our Lord Jesus (John 14:6). Powerful echoes remind us both of a powerful past and an incredible future (1 Corinthians 2:9). I pray that our “gravitational lens” in the Holy Spirit is powerful to bend the echoes from eternity past Satan’s obstacles (Matthew 16:23) and right into our spirits.

Is the echo a frequency sound? I sometimes hear it during prayer, I'm not sure what it is though.

Yes, echoes are reflected sound waves that keep repeating with their own amplitude and frequency (like when we yell in a cave or valley and we hear our own voice). If one has an ear problem or blockage, then they could hear their own echoes. But, if there's nothing wrong with your ear-nose-throat, then you're hearing the Holy Spirit! Most of us haven't heard the audible voice of the Lord like the Apostles Paul or John. Personally, I hear the voice of the Lord in words from scriptures that grab my attention. Creation itself is echoing with God's voice (Romans 1:20), displaying His character if not His sound. Peace in Christ
