Dear saints, this is an impromptu post triggered by a “suicide post-alert”. I’ll be brief.
It’s natural for saints to feel down and beat, and to such an extent that it grants Satan a toehold (Ephesians 4:27) to start traumatizing the saint. It’s important for the saint to be mentally (Romans 12:2), physically (1 Timothy 5:23), and spiritually fit (2 Timothy 4:2) to combat and defeat Satan.
Sometimes, it’s a lack of rest and fatigue that can bog us down. In 1 Kings 19 we see how the great Prophet Elijah, who had just defeated the false prophets of Baal, ran scared from a woman named Jezebel (1 Kings 19:3). The Prophet was discouraged, demoralized, defeated, and wanted to die (1 Kings 19:4-5)! What followed was so simple that it could almost be farcical. The Angel of the Lord admonished Elijah to “get up and eat” (1 Kings 19:5). God didn’t command the Prophet to pray, preach, or fast. Elijah was commanded to do the most obvious, eat and rest!
The Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect example of how to treat this “temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19). He met the spiritual needs of the people, but always knew their physical needs as well (Mark 6:36-40).
To beat Satan, we must be full of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49). He’s the only source of power that can beat hunger (Matthew 4:4), temptation (Matthew 4:10) and fatigue (2 Corinthians 4:16).
So don't let the devil and the world get you down, be aggressive for Christ in the Holy Spirit (Matthew 11:12) and let the devil get depressed for a change (Luke 10:18)!
Have a good week saints
