John 6:63

The words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.

We are told to speak politely and courteously, and we should (Ephesians 4:29). However, the word of God and the words uttered by a saint are much more powerful than positive talk. They carry the life creating power of the Holy Spirit. Do we realize that saints?

I'm confused here.

I read the whole chapter of John 6. Most of the large crowd who gathered to listen to Jesus preach, most of them left Him. They found the teachings of Christ about the Spirit and Life intolerable and repulsive.

Apparently, the Truth would instead make most people angry. Thus, why it's called the "Hard Truth". Most of the Jews voted to crucify Christ as expected, most who hears the Truth would hate it.

John 7:7
The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.

The Words of Spirit and Life is death to the wicked and thus, they will hate it.

I'm confused here.

I read the whole chapter of John 6. Most of the large crowd who gathered to listen to Jesus preach, most of them left Him. They found the teachings of Christ about the Spirit and Life intolerable and repulsive.

The gospel of Christ is intolerable and repulsive to sinners who are blinded by the god of this world so they cannot understand it. An important component of the gospel of Christ is the preaching of the Law of God to unconverted sinners so through their inability to obey it perfectly they are under the curse of God. Unconverted sinners, understandably, hate hearing this part of the gospel because it threatens their false peace in thinking that they are okay as they are. No one wants to think that they are going to hell when they die. Most blinded sinners have some sort of hope that the afterlife will be a time of rest and peace; and they cannot receive that it might involve an eternity of misery and suffering under the wrath of God.

But for those who believe the gospel and recognise they are sinners under the curse and wrath of God, when the good news of forgiveness and eternal life through Christ, they gladly accept it, exercise faith in Christ's finished work on the cross, and thereby receive salvation, peace with God, and true peace within themselves. Then they love the moral Law of God and do all they can to keep it because they have come to love the Lord and want to glorify Him through their lives.
