Power and Authority

The Greek word for authority is exousia and the Greek word for power is dunamis (plus 5 other words). In some versions, authority and power aren't translated correctly 100% of the time. Using Biblehub.com/interlinear.

Authority is dominion, jurisdiction over a certain realm. Luk 10:19 states authority over demonic spirits and all the power of the enemy. Power is strength and ability. (Of course, it's God's). Also, God's power is creative (Luk 1:35).

Read all the healings and miracles recorded in the NT are in the OT except casting out demons. When Jesus came on the earth "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Matt 28:18

Greek words for power and authority:
“Dunamis is inherent power; power of reproducing itself. In the plural, it means manifestations of power; mighty works. Kratos means strength (as exerted); power put forth with effect. Ischus is physical strength. Energeia is energy; strength put forth from within in effectual operation. See a lot more about power than authority. But looks like authority is the greater "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luk 10:19

For His power to work in our lives enabling us to speak His Word with boldness and to keep His Word. "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Luk 24:49 (Tarrying isn't required now). Acts 4:21, I John 3:24

"Not translated correctly" is a bold statement unless you have substantial knowledge of the Greek language. It takes more than checking an interlinear.

Kenneth Hagin did a teaching on believers authority that has stuck with me.
He used a anology of a traffic Cop, holding up his hand , and cars stop.
He said those cars could run right over him.
But he has the authority of the law backing him.
We have power to stop the enemy, with our authority to use the name of Jesus.
Could evil run us down?
In a Natural sense yes, but its the Name of Jesus who gives us the power and authority to stop it.
