FYI: there is no such thing as a good slippery slope argument. Pot does not lead to cocaine because cocaine is scary and ruins lives, and pot isn't and doesn't.

Not at all. It's a shame Christmas and Easter were perverted, but here we are. They are Pagan holidays only if they are observed as such.

They're still doing it today. When we copy Pagans, or any other part of this World system, we align ourselves with them in the supernatural realm. This is not a good thing.

I've been smoking the stuff since age 16 and I've never had any bad experiences with weed or hash (besides watching a sad movie while high and getting much more emotional than I normally would). At the moment, I smoke about 4 joints every night during week days, but I don't smoke anything when at home (instead of at my dorm room), usually during the weekend and during holidays. It greatly intensifies and improves most of my emotions and stimuli, and on top, is very relaxing. I enjoy a nice meal while being high much more than when I'm not. A good joke becomes an awesome joke. Sexual sensations are seriously heightened. Sometimes it helps me solve problems by looking at things from a different perspective, and gives me a certain insight that I would never have attained while sober. It doesn't really impair my reasoning, although it can slow it down a bit while under the influence, but the effect is insignificant, as I can still get the maximum score on most internet IQ tests while stoned. It does impair short term memory during periods of heavy usage, but that hasn't caused me any serious problems either. The only real drawbacks I would suggest are the price, and the consequences of getting caught by your parents (if you are not yet independant) if they are really opposed to it and you can't convince them of the drugs' innocence. But if you compare the price of smoking a few joints every night during the week, and going to the pub every night and drinking 5-10 pints, smoking weed is definitely cheaper. Besides, alcohol has caused me numerous occasions of misery in the past, in sharp contrast with weed. My opinion is that if alcohol and tobacco are legal, there is no reasonable argument to be made at all for the fact that weed is illegal. Of course, I do have to add this: As with all drugs, different people can react to weed very differently, and it is possible to get psychological problems because of its use in combination with certain personal characteristics. That is why everyone should make up for themselves whether they use it or not, and not depend on others testimonies about how harmless or harmful it is. It might be harmful for you, or harmless, and if it's the first, the best thing you can do is quit.

No, I have never tried pot, and I dont pretend to be an expert on the matter, but I think the answer to the question is No.

As a Christian, its not a GOOD thing to do.I dont think God is exactly pleased when we do things like that. It says in the bible that we should stay in our "right minds" in order to be a good witness, not to be drunk on wine. Forgive me if Im wrong, but from what some of you have posted it definately alters your state of mind right?!

However, i do alot of things that I shouldnt! I drink, sometimes too much, I have smoked which I cant exactly argue is good for me, and when Im down Ive been struggleing with Self harm which I use to relax myslef and lift my mood.Even certain foods can and are used as comfort food, and is abused for the effect it has on ones state of mind. So I wont judge you guys for choosing this particular drug to use. Its no better or worse that any...

As a christian, you should know that it is not Gods plan for you that you should NEED to use any kind of drug, be it pot, tobacco, alcohol, or anything, in order to feel better, or to think properly. Its not his desire for his children to abuse themselves, through drugs overeating, or sleeping around. However you get your high, God wants you to learn to come to him, to chill with him , to find yourself in him, to rejoice in him, to celebrate him to be loved by him...God is ALL about the relationship!

So no, I dont think it is a good thing to smoke pot, but I dont believe its the biggest issue either!

just as an aside, wether you think it should be or not,fact is, it IS illeaglal! Therefore one should consider how it is that the drug is getting to you?! maybey the crime of buying or selling it to your mates is negligable but what, bigger crimes is it funding? where does it come from? how is it being trafficked? who does it? are they being exploited? Just a consideration...Ive been thinking along the same lines for chocolate...

then legalise it. create privatly owned factories in our own countries and grow the weed under strict governmental regulations. sell it in shops to people over the age of 21.

because I have been evicted as of yesterday due to the reckless actions of my brother damaging property of the apartments, I smoked some weed and calmed down immensely from fears that we wont have a house to live in, I cant continue going to school until were done finding an apartment and move by monday and several other things I really dont want to have to type. As of 8:30pm I got high. I have acomplished 3 thing, 1. created a new song on my guitar and recorded it with my tape player. 2. I finished 2 drawings for a portfolio when I am able to go back to school in a week or 2 hopefully, 3. I have been able to relaxe and my stomach unknotted from the stress. My family and I are trying to into an apartment and don't know if well qualify....I hate to ask but could you all pray that we get that apartment....you dont have to post but my Mom is losing faith in God because it seems like day after day he basically takes a giant dump on our lives. I cant have her lose her faith because she basically holds this family together. Sorry about this.

I have a family member who scoffs at God. It's good to know God doesn't give up on us.

Thank you both. I have been talking to her about God. She is coming around to this. She asks why God does not help her in times of need and I respond to her and tell her that God allowed us free will and we chose evil. God helps us all the time but it is not him creating evil its man. I blame man not God. I blame man for us getting evicted, someone shooting up a school. Satan is also blamed because he puts those evil thoughts in our heads to do evil things. She is coming back to God thankfully and I thank you all and only ask that you pray she puts all that faith back in God like I have been doing. I will replace my smoking with something positive. I am going to try and learn how to aggressive skate next month. Thanks so much for the prayers everyone and sorry if this way off topic. BTW my uncle also doesnt believe in God or accept Christ as his savior so I will be praying for him too.

Hmmm one of my favorite stories (and I dont read the Bible alot but nonetheless) is the Prodigal son...
We may turn our backs, but God never turns God's back on us....(my husband doesnt believe in God-he questions God persay, believes in Jesus mind,so I alwys get him with that...that God believes in him ).

It really frustrates me when people compare the marijuana high to alcohol intoxication. When you are drunk you loose control function of every part of your body including your brain untill the drug wears off. It dulls, and numbs while marijuana can be stimulating to creativity, thought provoking, and help you look at things from a better perspective. Many cultures believe that certain drugs which fall into the catagory of enthogens can help them connect with God. Marijuana can be one of those drugs.

All of those are examples of self-medication and using drugs as an escape which can be harmful.
