I AM NOT endorsing this in any shape, form of manner. It offers some insight on current events and eschatology. I do not plan to buy this new translation but if anyone has, was it worthwhile and is it an authentic translation, or is this just a sales gimmick?
Is Hurricane Ida Another Sign of the End Times?
Recent disasters! Does God cause these?
Cat 4 Hurricane Ida is right now causing extensive damage in Louisiana exactly 16 years after Katrina which killed 1,833 people and caused $125 billion in damage. As of the writing of the email, there are over one million people without power due to Ida and many people may die from flooding and drown in their homes as the storm surge waters rise.
A week ago, there was a massive 7.3 earthquake in Haiti that killed over 2,200 people and injured over 10,000 people. In addition, two days ago hurricane Nora hit land in Mexico and is moving up the coast flooding all areas along its path.
In Venezuela, there is even more severe flooding in the last couple of days causing mudslides and death just as it did three months ago in May which included its capital of Caracas.
These are but a few of the natural disasters caused by weather in the recent days causing severe damage in their wake.
Mankind says they need to control the weather:
I find it very interesting that mankind thinks the problem with the weather is due to our use of technology and CO2 emissions and that man is actually controlling the weather and we have to “fix it”. The G7 nations have been meeting in the last few years to discuss how they can and should control the world’s weather. The means by which they wish to accomplish their goals are akin to no less than the redistribution of wealth from rich countries to poor countries who don’t even emit much C02 in the first place.
In reality, man has little to no effect on the planet’s temperature. CO2 represents an extremely small 0.041% of the Earth’s atmosphere and 0.013% is caused by man. God has already prepared for this contingency by having the oceans designed to absorb a third of mankind’s CO2 emissions and 90% of the excess heat generated by increased greenhouse gas emissions.
Regardless of what man tries to do in this area, they will fail as God controls the weather (as the Scriptures show below) and “… the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” (1 Cor 3:19).
The Scriptures say that God controls the weather:
As God speaks to Job in chapters 38-41 of Job, God provides rhetorical questions to Job that declare that no matter how religious, smart, or ambitious a person or the world is they can never begin to grasp true knowledge and only God knows everything. In Job 38:22-38 God declares that man has no clue over the vast complexities of what we call nature and only God controls what we perceive as ultimately “simple” things such as snow, hail, wind, rain, deserts, due, frost, clouds, floods, lightning. God even mocks man in thinking that they know anything about his creation by adding “Who has put wisdom in the inward parts or given understanding to the mind?”(Job 38:36).
There are over 50 verses that state directly that God controls the weather. It is not by chance but controlled by our Lord. It is true that we can observe how God controls the weather, and for the most part we can predict the next somewhat consistent patterns for us. For example, even King Solomon understood that worldwide trade winds moved in a circular pattern around the planet. (Ecc 1-6). A few of the verses showing God’s complete control over the weather include:
· “When He thunders, the waters in the heavens are in turmoil, and He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain and brings the wind from His storehouses.” (Jer. 10:13)
· “Who covers the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth and causes grass to grow on the hills ... lightning and hail, snow and cloud, stormy wind that executes His command,” (Psalm 147:8; 148:8)
· “He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen. He loads the clouds with moisture; He scatters his lightning through them. At His direction, they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to do whatever He commands them. He brings the clouds to punish men, or to water His earth and show His love.” (Job 37: 3, 6, 10-13)
· “I also withhold rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up.” (Amos 4:7)
· “Ask the Lord for rain in the season of spring rain. The Lord makes the rain clouds, and He will give them showers of rain and crops in the field for everyone.” (Zech 10:1)
· “The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)
Are these increasing Natural Disasters a sign of the end?
Even though we can’t understand why God chooses to have certain storms, earthquakes, floods, and fires are various places, causing loss of life and destruction, He has a purpose. God is a Loving God and at the same time a Just God and will never take anyone before their time, and I won’t and can’t question how and why He chooses these events and places as He does. Just as with Job, God does not explain himself other than to say that he knows what he is doing. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa 55:8-9).
My heart goes out to the people devastated by these disasters and we should earnestly pray for them. Even though we can’t begin to understand God’s logic, He does reveal to us the pattern of end-time events and what is going to happen so that when they do, we will understand and not be afraid as we were forewarned. God has indeed told us that these events that we see unfolding will not only continue but get more frequent and more devastating (using the analogy of birth pains) as "... there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." (Matt 24:7-8)
The End-Time events are unfolding. Are you informed?
It is my humble opinion that the reason this is happening now is that the planet as a whole is turning away from God at an alarming rate leaving those that have chosen to turn their backs on God and follow their own desires. Churches worldwide have embraced the acceptance of sins not permitted by the scriptures and have hence, are no longer following God. There is a big difference between saying you are a disciple of God and actually accepting and following Him daily.
The New Testament provides God’s plan of salvation and how we should live our lives to serve him, and if we do, we will become his adopted children and live in Heaven with him eternally. Over the centuries, definitions of individual words have been slowly changing, and the original meanings of each of the Greek root words used in the New Testament have come to light.
The Pure Word is an unparalleled New Testament translation from the Original Greek. It is the only translation that incorporates the original meanings of each of the 5,624 Greek root words as written over 1,900 years ago, along with their detailed parsings.
