  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Post something edifying:)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

I recently watched an old movie, "Sgt. York".
I've seen the movie many times, and it's always very inspiring.
But this time I did a search on Sgt. York, and I was amazed at the things I read.
I was shocked to find myself comparing York to George Washington.
God had His Hand on York, and protected York from thousands of bullets.
At one point, no less than 30 machine guns were firing at York, only 25 yards away.
York stood there alone, out in the open, and all of the bullets went to his right or his left.
None of the bullets touched him, not even his clothes.

Before he ever left for France, he had the assurance God was going to protect him.
He felt like God had promised him safety, and he made up his mind to trust in God's promises.
This man's trust in God is a great example for us to live by.

Because of some things that have happened in my life, I have had trouble trusting God.
But God seemed to be speaking to me as I read about York.
That trusting Him is an action I must choose to take, just like York did.
And believing in the promises of God is also a choice only I can make.

I am faced with some big challenges this week (work related).
But I am believing God will help me, and give me strength.

Here's a link if you want to read a little about Sgt. York:

Rev 22:1 –Rev 22:5 NKJV

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

How was your week?

Thanks for asking

Part of it went well, so I am thankful for that.:)
But the big thing that is looming over my head is a government report I have to do.
And I am procrastinating about it, making it worse than it is.
I think I would rather take 10 lashes with a whip than do that report.:(
It's a complicated mathematical thing, and I'm not good at math.
I have to do one every year, and I always dread it.
I just need to dig in and tackle it.
Or run away to the Bahama's.

Our church started a new 'series' on the book of Isaiah
for the Summer. I'm STOKED about it.
The Pastor wants to focus on the Hope we have -
which is the theme of Isaiah, where in all God's judgments
against Israel thru Isaiah, He shows Isaiah the future hope
of God reigning over all humanity in the future.

We need hope today
