  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Although I believe the scripture supports a post tribulation view because of certain verses which put the rapture at the end of the tribulation, I will say that I am not 100 percent certain about that or how it is supposed to work. I am 100 percent certain that Jesus is the Son of God, but I am not totally certain about the different end times positions, I just favor the post tribulation view because it seems to be the best supported. It also seems to go along with what the Lord has said in a few different ways, which is that we must endure to the end. When He says "end" I am convinced He is not just talking about the end of our lives, but also the end of time. He speaks in Revelation in a few places about these very points.

post-trib.
grew up pre-rib most of my life in southern Baptist and non-denominational churches, and when i first started to really study for the Bible for myself, and with the guidance of the Lord, He led me to post-trib.
there are many problems with pre-trib... 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us that certain things must happen before the Day of the Lord, and Matthew 24 tells us "after the tribulation of those days"... not before.
plus, this teaching has some serious deception behind it... while pre-trib teaches Christ comes first, the Bible teaches Antichrist comes first... when that day comes, and Antichrist is revealed to the world, those who hold to pre-trib will believe the strong delusion, the miracles, and the wonders that Antichrist will be performing. they will eat it up, because Antichrist will do everything in his power to appear as Jesus coming back.
that's why 2 Thessalonians 2 says "let no one deceive you by any means. for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition..."
and no, i dont view Revelation all literally. i see a lot of symbolism in the book, but i do see some stuff that should be taken literally
