Hello, people. I have made many friends on Christian Forums and have shared many many happy times with all of my friends, but there is one disturbing thing that many of my friends have shared with me, and that is that they struggle with tendencies to self-injure.

Please post in this thread if you are one of these people, supply your first name if you feel comfortable doing so (or otherwise provide a fictitious first name that can be used in prayer)

I am going to submit a prayer request to the pastors of our church (there are several) and believe me, they are so sincere and so full of the spirit of God, that it will have an effect.

I already know of several people and will include any that I already know in the prayer request. Our church has been blessed with a senior pastor with a strong vision and sense of direction and the entire pastoral team there is a team with a powerful mission to lift and heal and save people.

So please post in this thread so I can add you to the prayer list. And in the meantime, remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that your body is a masterpiece of God and a house for your soul.

i'm cassie...i'm glad you go to a church that's suportive...mine isn't. i told my youth pastor and he tried to have me committed. well, it's slightly more complicated then that.

Hi,

I've been struggling with self injury for most of my life. I'm hesitant to post in this thread because I think there are so many people who need prayers more than I do. I agree that it's wonderful for a church to be so understanding of a problem that is so often misunderstood. It's a great thing that you're doing.

I just wanted to let others here know that I understand what they're going through, and I don't have a lot of answers, but if anyone ever wants to talk, I'm very good at listening.

I'm April ... no one at my church knows that I cut, and I don't think they'd care either way since we've just started going there and know hardly anyone ... in fact, hardly anyone in real life knows.

I know what it's like to self-injure yourself. I am currently seeking counseling and taking medication. Praying for those that try to self-injure themselves and their family. Please seek help asap!
