Not sure if this has been done before but sometimes I think my life would make an interesting story. And I'm thinking a lot of people feel the same way. So post a short paragraph about something you've experienced (relationship, wedding, graduation, winning a prize, painful time) as if you were writing a story. I will start:

The soldiers of Wolf Pack platoon woke up to the sound of a furious drill sergeant yelling obscenities at the top of his lungs.

"Everybody get the *bleep* out of bed and start running in place!"

"Hit it!"

This meant do push ups.

"Go!"

This meant get your butt back up and run in place.

After 2 hours of sleep deprived torture (the drill sergeant had woken us up at 3 am), we were told to mop up the sweat. I couldn't help but think less of the little red-headed boy who cried throughout the whole ordeal.

So I put myself out there. Somebody else post something :)

Suddenly their was a deafening explosion. The students grabbed their desks preparing to instantly react to whatever came their way. Terror began to infiltrate their thoughts, would a gunman enter? After seconds which seemed like hours, the teacher causiously exited the door to find the cause of the disturbance and found . . .

What? Found WHAT, Luther???

A chem teacher with some hydrogen and burned ceiling panels.

Yeah its anti-climatic I know.

But that actually happened to us when I was in High school not long after Columbine. And honestly it scared the crap out of everyone there. I was ready to break a window and crawl out. That is of course after I made sure all the ladies got out first.

I like this thread.

A sudden "Look out" echoed from the second story. The kid below looked up to see a large sledge hammer about 40 feet into the air spinning. It has slipped from the hands of its user. The child watched from below, seemingly unaware of the danger as the hammer continued to spin on its way to the ground. Finally the hammer hit is mark and landed perfectly, head first, less then an inch from the toes of the child. Inquizativly the child looked at the large hammer before turning away and continuing on what he was previously doing.

Both your stories are great, Luther. Love the dramatic elements.

Lightning collided with the earth.

It was quite dark and the pouring rain quenched the earth's thirst. (^_^ ) A 16-year old version of myself was confronted with an adverse situation.

She stood in front of me with tiny streams of water gliding down her face. I'm sure she never thought she would say these words in her own back alley:

"I'm pregnant."

My knees grew weak.

Years later I discovered that she had only said it so I wouldn't break up with her. She can not have children.

WOW that one scared me for a second lol.

You guys are both awesome writers! You must join me and become published authors!

I know, I have no excuse for not writing something here. I'm just better at fiction...

It was a Wednesday morning...

I was by myself driving to see a lung specialist about 2 hours away. FINALLY! A solution was in reach. I was going to get started on the medicine that would bring my year long illness to an end.

I arrived at the hospital, met the doctor and we reviewed my test results and then WHAM! My world turned upside down. It wasn't what my doctors had thought...

I had a T-E-R-M-I-N-A-L lung disease and had approximately a year to live.

Through the fog in my brain I heard the doctor say, "There's nothing that can be done." "We'll make you comfortable towards the end" "I'll schedule a lung biopsy to see how far advanced is your disease" "Have a safe drive home"

I went to the parking garage ALONE. Sat in my car ALONE and cried ALONE. How was I going to tell my family? Why would the Lord do this? What was going on?

That was Wednesday...and then came Sunday...and I went for prayer...

I conlused once more, I had enough, I stood up confused as to what was going on. Hoping it wasn't serious I took my glasses off, another major convulsion hit me and I twisted my glasses in half. I really became afraid then so I didn't worry about the damage to my glasses. I considered calling 911 but first I must lie down. I turned over and laid in my bed. . . then everything went black.

I came to, I had forgotten why I was lying down, my tongue was extremly painful. What had happened to me? I forgot about everything else, turned off my light and went to sleep.

Soaking wet I pulled myself out, it was easier then it seemed. I grabbed onto the tree and looked back at my flashlight still floating there. I would need that, but it was too far away, I would risk falling in again if I grabbed it. I was freezing, but I ignored the cold, too many years of growing up in Northern Indiana winters had taught me to ignore it.

I looked for a large stick to test the ice in front of me with. But none existed, I would have to use my feet. Slowly I moved around the ice trying to find a way out. I realized all too soon that none existed. Grasping a tree, much harder then I must have realized at the time I realized I was stranded. I yelled out for help, but no one was there to hear me. I bowed my head, I had one option left.
