I found this poem in a book called the Healing Power Of Prayer by Chester L Tolson, and Harold g. Koenig. "It states that many people say "we are what we think we are." While that is not totally true, allowing our minds to dwell on the positive instead of negative images of ourselves can affect waht we "bring into Gods temple." We do control our attitudes and responses. Our part in praying is to try to put out of our minds doubts, fears, and pessimistic thoughts."
Remember:
If we believe we are beaten,
Our thoughts may block our victory.
if we are afraid to believe,
We may not understand the answer.
If we want to achieve but do nothing,
Our lethargy may block our accomplishments.
If we think we are going to lose,
We may set in motion our defeat.
But with God's help we can win,
Whatever our struggles may be.
Our attitude, our faith, and our determination
Will help ignite the spark of grace.
For us to understand and do whatever
God wills for our lives.
I just wanted to share this, as it was inspirational for me, as sometimes I feel like God isnt always there or listening, and perhaps I am praying and focusing too much on negativity or doubt, and fear, that I am bringing more into my life than necessary. So maybe it will inspire someone else.
