  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Many people seem to think negatively on the above verses. They simply stay put unbothered about the problems of the eyes. The positive approach would be to make it a point to take out the beam from our eyes so that one can go forward to remove the mote from another’s eye. Both are a requirement for a spirit filled life.

Interesting  . Now comes Romans 3:10 . The question is... Is there sin? If so and Romans applies as truth no man/woman should be under the mind of judgment. In picture it looks like this... At least I dont but he/she does. This tends to set self on a higher ground that is not ours to posses in righteousness. All things good are of God. Thus, all these different doctrines of righteousness in the forums page.

Our yardstick to compare the righteousness is Jesus' words

take out the beam from our eyes so that one can go forward to remove the mote from another’s eye

Am not sure that the purpose of getting the beam out of my eye is so that somehow I will be justified or more competent in taking out the mote in my brother's. The real purpose is so that I will see more clearly, and my own understanding of my relationship with God and with other people will be corrected. And then I will probably be more gracious and forgiving of them in my heart - something that will show in how I approach them (in great humility if at all) about the concerns I may have about their behaviour.

The context is about criticizing and judging others. When we point a finger at others, we have three pointing at ourselves. We are not the judge and so should not take on that role, particularly when we don't see clearly ourselves.

A person has to be aware of the beam and see(behold) it in their own eye before they can even begin to remove it. In my experience it's one those things that are easy in theory but much harder in practice to do.

the use of beam and mote is not for no reason. The carnal mind will always be judging, and your thoughts well never be his thougts as isiah said.

So taking the beam out so that we can see, is about repentance of the mind.

ITs about stop eating from the "judgind tree" the tree that brings death, the tree of knowledge of GOOD vs EVIL. Thats the only place death ever comes from, its equal to the carnal mind, the judgeing mind, the thinking mind.

Thinking is defined is the dictionary as the process of forming opinions and making judgements.

That is waht we use our minds to and how we lead our lives. ITs not having GOD as our source, but our own brain lol. Its a brain worship.

When we repent we lean not to our own understanding, we get that tree out of our mind becase we dont eat of it anymore, we let christ, the substance of his boy and blood be our new mind. Thats the spiritual mind. We eat of the communino instead. Its the tree of life.

After that we can set ourselves free and tehn also others, because we are of a spiritual mind and can see clearly, and thought we will see evil we will not assign it to personhood, not ourselves or others, so this is the new state of mind we can be in to finally set ppl free. The big problem though is not the mote in other ppls eyes, but the huge beam in our own.

this is true. It takes a AWAKENING to be able to see the beam in our own minds eye. It takes a dividing of spirit and soul. But after that we will never be the same.

As paul said "awake, rise from the dead, and CHRIST will shine for you"

And as Jesus said: "the EYE is the lamp of the body, when it is double (double minded, judging good vs evil) it will be darkness, when it is SINGLE, only approving the one ultimate power that is god, it will be filled with light and how great that light weill be"
