Living in Beaverton here. I like the weather in the northwest though. It creats a very rainforest atmosphere.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I live in CA but my aunt lives in Vancouver, WA; I've been up to visit her several times and have consistently enjoyed being there. I was looking for a library job up in Portland after finishing grad school but alas-- no such luck. I keep looking around now and then, but haven't come across anything that doesn't require more qualifications than I have... 
Maybe in the future something will open up and I can get out of the central valley doldrums!

What is with all of these Ducks? *sigh* I am a Beaver...well I will be officially a Beaver in September. I went to Benson Polytechnic and live in N Portland. Bad area...(good time to have faith!) Portland is great...except for the corrupted politics, crime rate, suicide rate, homelessness, poverty stricken families, abuse, weather, police...it's great! So i have lived here most of my life (spent 3 years in SF, CA) and I do in fact love Portland. Just not my area. I hate some areas, but I love many at the same time....anyone else go to OSU? I am so lost...*whimper*
