CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not from there, but have visited it every summer since I was seven to visit my Aunt and Uncle. It's a beautiful city.

well i'm from the OC, CA but i have family in albany OR. I tend to fly up there rather often into portland and see them and grab lunch and so on. thats about it for me though.

I'm in Vancouver... In the Orchards area... I go to the Vancouver Vineyard (awesomest church in the world...) I love living in the portland area (though the weather does suck...
), and I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else (though I would certainly live part time somewhere else... like every month but July, August, and September...) Anywho... gotta go... the bells about to ring and I can't still be gone when class gets out

For those of you who are Rock N' Roll Worship Circus fans (those fans who live in the Portland/Vancouver area...), R & R Worship Circus is putting on a concert (at my church... the Vancouver Vineyard...) on Saturday, May 29 at 7:30pm... Tickets are 8 bucks in advance (available at Christian Supply in portland and Branches in Vancouver...) or 10 bucks at the door... It's gonna be awesome! come on by!
