Sorry for just sticking to the opening post, but here's my views on the comments made by the Popes that have been shared. Please do not try to debate me about my thoughts or views, I'm coming here in peace to show you, as a Christian, why I believe certain things about Mary, Mother of God, in which I truly believe have been placed on my heart by God Himself, as I use to be very anti-Catholic beliefs at one point in my life.

I don't have faith because I read the Bible and believe it. I have faith in God because of what He has done for me... PARTICULARLY the people He brings into my life. He works through people, even though we may not always realize it.

Now you shared the following:
Let them fly with utter confidence to this most sweet Mother of mercy and grace in all dangers, difficulties, needs, doubts and fears. Under her guidance, under her patronage, under her kindness and protection, nothing is to be feared; nothing is hopeless.

Let me equate this to another example. My boyfriend, Sean, is also my Brother in Christ and my best friend. When my world is falling apart, he is ALWAYS by my side, ready to pick me up and offer me hope. I run to him because I know he will pray for me, offer me strength, and a shoulder to cry on. I see Jesus in Sean, just like I see Jesus in Mary, Mother of God. I see Jesus in many people and I reflect upon how, why, and when God has brought people into my life in order to better understand what Jesus wants for my life.

Does the Bible state anything particular about bringing certain people into your life to inspire you and walk in a better Christian life? No, not to my knowledge unless you want to pop one or two verses out of some place that I don't about :D

In the same way my best friend and boyfriend protects me and holds me in his arms, safe and secure, so does Mary. I know this is his love for me and also Christ's love for me. When I run to Mary in prayer, I ask for her to secure me, hold me, and pray for me. Just like I would with any Brother or Sister who knows me very well.

Every time Sean has come to be by my side, I don't deny Christ... I praise Christ for being so loving as to provide such a person in my life. Well He has also provided Mary, Mother of God, as someone who I can go speak to and ask guidance of. Wisdom is not a bad thing... check out Proverbs. :)

I'll post more later...

It seems like alot of emphasis is put on Mary, when all you EVER quote from the RCC is ABOUT MARY...you act like that is all that is written in the entire Catholic Doctrine..

There's alot more about the Catholic Church than just Mary. Just read through the Catechism and you'll realize that. It's not because of Mary that I personally joined the Catholic Church, it's the Tradition, the Saints, the Sacraments, the Liturgy, and the Mass! ;)

That is the built in problem with the mariology sub-forum, by its nature it puts too much focus on marian dogma and devotion. these things would take over GT from time to time, but at leat there it could run its course, down here it just fester

If someone has faith only because they read the Bible and believe it, then they don't have true faith. They should read the Bible and believe it because they HAVE faith.

Now let's look at Tradition Churches and non Tradition Churches...why do Tradition Churches read and believe the Bible? Because we have faith. Now non Tradition Churches can't say that, because they only have faith in and because of the Bible...

Well you can thank your RCC brethern for that, they moved it here. Easier to keep an eye on us 'demon posessed' that do not rely on Mary, and would dare to say a thing against the RCC version of her. Plus it is hidden away.

I think this was directed at me, but if you look around a little I quote all over the place...Church history, patristics, GT, Christian apologetics... I am actually quite bored by the mary stuff. I wish ya'll would just quit building statues and having gatherings devoted to her.
She was the most blessed humble obedient servant of our Lord , let it be! leave it there...

The views shared by my Brothers and Sisters as CHRISTIANS are important. While your view may be different than my view on Mary, I hope that we can at least value her for what she has done while having faith in God. With that value, we each will find a different way of showing respect to the Virgin Mary. And we each should respect those different ways, as long as they don't specifically go against the Bible and its teachings.

I've visited a RC Mass the last couple of weeks now...I must say it's reverence toward Y'shua, and the focus is truly on what He's done for us.

The Mass itself is beautiful...

anyhow...just had to say that :p

I've been visiting other denominations the past few weeks ... it started out just to be a more understanding mod, but I find I'm learning more and more that under all the debate and yeow yeow that happens...we *all* have one thing in common...

We love our Savior :)

So are everyone's views correct? The bible says no, they aren't. The bible says that Jesus is the only way to God, that we have one mediator between God and man and that is Christ, that Mary was not a virgin all her life in Matthew 1:25, that we are not supposed to make images of any man or woman or animal. So are Christians supposed to stand up for the world's views or the God's word? I know what I stand up for and that's God's word over any man. Acts 5:29, "We must obey God rather than men." I'm just curious what we're allowed to stand up for on this "Christian" forum?

The bible doesn't say any such thing - that's your tradition talking. And according to what you claim you've just disobeyed the bible by inserting vile IMAGES  of smiley faces in your post!
