No, you're supposed to wonder how "No one has an issue with x" is much of an argument in favour of x or against `x.

And by the way, "myth" is a technical term. It refers to a traditional or legendary story.

What makes you think I have any call to convince you of anything. You must think that every Christians job is to convince you that you need to be saved? You've been in this world long enough to have heard the pitch. I have no call to bring you before God so why waste my time? Why waste your time?

You'll be aware of whatever God chooses to make you aware of. I'm aware of his existence and that's enough for me.

nobody is opposed to abstinence, i just don't think it's realistic to expect everyone to follow it.

I also don't see the point in abstinence education. All that is going to do is get teenagers talking about sex.

Education is about providing information, moral or long-term messages are generally lost.

Abstinence education is basically saying, "Hey kids, this is lots of fun but don't do it, it's bad!". If you're going to educate teenagers about sex you should educate them on how to properly practice safe sex.

Eitherway, even if you don't, the catholic church opposes contraceptives, and that was the whole point of this conversation.

Sorry Nathan45, but people are opposed to abstinence, it is generally not taught in schools or in may AID's programs.

Alsonot everyone can be relied on to use condomns, if there arent any, or if people are drunk they often dont bother, so why bother with condoms either?
