I definitely do not agree with prearranged marriage and parents need to not only trust their children but also that they have taught them well enough that the kids can make their own decisions.No but the parents should control the dating and dealings when their children are around the opposite sex. In parts of Italy and Greece the parents always go with their children when they go out on a date or if 2 couples are interesting in marrying each other. Or even back earlier when parents would help pick a good humble wife for their son or visa versa(prearranged)
Dating in a controlled manner may be ok for minors but as soon as they turn 18 it would not be acceptable.I don't have problem with dating in controlled manner. But if the couple really like each other then they should get married.
I agree, if I were being followed on dates, etc. by my parents, I would definitely feel like they lack trust in me, and by extension, their own parenting. I'd probably emancipate myself, and/or get a restraining order if they insisted on following me around all the time. And I for one am 40 and still have not done enough shopping to be able to decide on a wife so you cannot expect a young couple to get married just because they like each other.

The issue isn't if they are obstacles or not (though they certainly are) the issue is that they forbidden by a higher law than even the law of the land. That is God's law. And yes that is the ruler by which the issue is measured. By human standards you are correct; sexual deviancy is not an issue. By God's standards it is.
I can't speak for the US as I don't know the figures but here in Britain the rates are rising. Disturbingly they are rising most in the under-16 population.

Alsonot everyone can be relied on to use condomns, if there arent any, or if people are drunk they often dont bother, so why bother with condoms either?
