When is one's intent to use NFP to be open to life? (I'm not talking about using NFP in order to conceive, because in that case it's obvious.) I have difficulty distinguishing NFP use that is open to life (not sinful) and NFP use that is not open to life (sinful because of sinful intention).

When you must prevent pregnancy for reason that are beyound your control.

If you have to prevent it- you are not free. Your free will has being impeded.

But that's what this thread is about, it is two sins, but still, in case of promiscuity (prostitution for example) it may be even worse not to wear a condom than to wear one, because the condom can prevent the spreading of HIV.

What it is about is the pope saying he sees the efforts of using them in this sinful context, a hope for humanity because even though as sinful as it all is, the person is thinking of someone else's life.
