Bummer, I thought it was awesome that he said that. It needs to re-enter our lexicon as a pejorative like it was 20 years ago. I hate that the gay Mafia cried about it and somehow we all agreed with them that it's offensive. Never surrender, never pander to those people.

I never would have used such language 20 or 30 or even 50 or 60 years ago. People who used such language were crude back then. Crude now too. Anybody using that language should have his mama wash his mouth out with soap.

So we just saw crudity AND pandering. But far more pandering than crudity. An apology, then three unfitting sexualist cardinals appointed to the DDF, AND a forward to the latest James Martin book promoting the usual sexualist garbage. And then they even advertised the book on the Vatican web site. The Vatican has already surrendered, if not joined, these people.

I gotta go hurl.

I have no idea what he called them but he said doesn't want it.
So again - is he given truth?

I had to read a book written by a priest for lay ecclesiastical classes and showed my Deacon who would talk to someone. It didn't seem right.
And he agreed.

I have not read the book in question and I have no doubt I don't want to.

And I don't know the actual translation of it, but I do not think he is going to win either way.
Tell me the word.

"Frociaggina". We'll see if the censors flag the direct translation into English as "faggotry".

It was a crass little eruption of the sort you don't expect from popes. He said there was too much of it in seminaries. Just a few days ago though, he wrote to a guy who was of that sort and encouraged him on in his hopes for seminary.

This way, that way, which way today, which way tomorrow? If he is 'given truth' he seems to quickly lose it.

I imagine Jesus wielding a whip.
I do not know why that slang is bad.

Well, my mom never used cus words and she said that word, being she was from the 50's she said it used to mean a cigarette or sticks.
But as slang, back in the day, it wasn't a cus word.
I mean, sodomy... is vulgar, or any term to try to state it.
But sodomites - there's that.

I don't think pope Francis was referring to a bundle of sticks or a cigarette.

What gets me is that once in a while he has an orthodox answer to something, before he has a contrary answer.

Yes well, faggotry, does not say to me, derogatory.
Maybe desensitized by the far worse flagrant name calling the world over?
Sooooo - Google says this:

In particular, faggotry is a mixing of racial, gender, and sexual performances that produces one as an Other (being queer) and also that allows one to experience the world queerly (relation to freedom).

I'm not sure he would've felt the pressure to apologize if he meant it as anything other than "the seminaries are gettin a bit too gay".

Methinks if it was on purpose, he said that to dilute some of the outrage that would follow after we see all the support he seems to give to the alphabet community.
