  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And if it helps you feel better, I promised someone yesterday that I would dig up some scripture on something because I had a headache at the time.

But for the life of me I cannot remember what it was about or what thread it has been in. Prophecykid has had most of my attention the last couple of days...

But we'll make a good conservative Lutheran out of him yet :D
Let's Hope!

Well let's see, I have eaten, squirrel, rabbit, dove, partridge, pheasant, rattlesnake, frog legs, kimchi, venison (deer meat in all forms, steak, ground, sausage, roast), elk, moose, antelope, baluts, and a few things in the Philippines that I never did know what they were... but I lived to tell about it. ^_^

I like everything, but would probably pass on the kimchi if it came too often. Rattlesnake and pheasant were the best tasting, although I really like venison.

And in honor of this thread, tonight when we shopped, I picked up a package of kettle corn. I will let you know what I think of it (probably not 'til Sunday night (I have to visit a congregation out of the area this weekend).

I might try some deer, elk, antelope, or rabbit. As for everything else.....

I think I'll pass.

Hope you like the popcorn though!

Alabama, wish these darned old armadillo's would move back to Texas LOL.
They hop quite humorously when you shoot them, especially with a .22.

It's almost as much fun as shooting turtles in a tank.

But not nearly as fun as shooting them with a tank.. ;)

Oo! There's an idea with merit.

In Texas, we call tanks what you likely call a watering hole or pond and we shoot the little fish egg eatin' buggers when they pop their heads up for air. When you hit one with a .22, the distinct sound is easy to recognize and a swig of beer is in order. :p

It's a bit more challenging than putting them in a stock tank (yes, the round metal kind) and pointing a shotgun in their general direction. Where would the fun be in that? ;)

Question is... do you eat them afterward?

Soft shell turtle soup. :yum: Of course, one has to be willing to try to gather the carcasses and in a large tank that can be tricky.

The fish, raccoons, coyotes and buzzards like them just fine otherwise. ;)

Popcorn--Best is my hubby's. We have a stove top type with crank on the handle. Wore out a Theater2, got this one at Cabella's. He puts in barely enough oil, yellow popcorn (we avoid the white kind), and when it's done we put it in two bowls. He drowns his in butter, and I sprinkle mine with Lowry's seasoning salt. Next best is theater popcorn, but we only go to the movies about once a year. When I'm working the midnight to 8AM shift, hubby will make me a batch and I'll take it to work in a 5-quart size ice cream bucket.
