  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

if youre using internet explorer, you can as well try setting up the security & privacy options. you dont need an additional ad/popblocker software to do that :)

here's what i do:

point mouse to the ads/popup window, right click... properties... copy root url of the popup/ads...

click IE browser's tools.. internet options -- security -- restricted sites -- sites -- paste/type root url of the add/pop then, click add --- ok ok

then go to privacy -- edit-- paste/type root url of the add/pop then, click block-- ok ok ...

there you are ;) the popup or advertisement will not come out anymore ;)

just repeat the process everytime a popup/ads appears in your pc!

just make sure you clear your temporary internet files and cookies for it to be effective.. it worked for me very effectively, so surely, will work with you as well ;)

I don't like adding toolbars because there are so many that are full of adware and spyware. Even though I haven't heard bad things about Google - I have a different solution: Bayden's Popuppopper http://download.com.com/3000-7786-10132175.html?tag=lst-0-1

It does not block all popups automatically - which is whyI like it. I go to many sites that REQUIRE popups (like this one), and it's only the offending sites that I wish to block. The program is non-intrusive, and simply asks you for each page whether you'd like to block this ONE, block ALL from the site, allow this ONE, or allow ALL from the site.

If you choose to block or allow ALL, it will never ask again for that site (you can add basic domain names to avoid having to add multiple related pages). You have complete control over what is blocked/allowed, though I understand if many users would want an application that does it all automatically. This is perfect for more advanced users that need a greater level of control.

Any GOOD browser has a popup blocker, in my opinion. The reason most people that are educated with PCs still use IE is that it is integrated with the system, and thus launches faster. For those people, get the Google Toolbar.

The bad thing about it being integrated with the system is that if you get a virus, it will probably infect IE. For these people, use Mozilla Firebird or Opera.

Me? I'm on a Mac. I use Safari.
