Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.
But it says "Only active members of this forum may vote. A specific faith icon is not required, however, you must be a known member of this forum."
Emphasize mine.
This poll is only open to members who self-identify as liberal Catholics. Please be honest and do not misrepresent your faith to vote in a forum that is not your home forum.
This is a word for word copy of the original poll.
....... But basically, you have to be a Catholic in Union with Pope Francis (no schismatic groups) and you need to self identify as theologically liberal.
Staff will be leaning toward giving the benefit of the doubt in cases where the liberalism of the member is questionable. Please don't call out voters in this thread.
If you are a liberal Catholic, you may vote in the poll regardless of the faith icon that you use. If you are not a liberal Catholic, you may not vote in the poll, regardless of which faith icon you use.The two statements contradict themselves. The first statement clearly says that a specific faith icon is not required while the second statement says the poll is only open to members who self-identify as liberal Catholics. So, which one is it or is it a matter of what is convenient for this particular poll?
Also, are there active participants in other congregational forums who are not of that specific faith but they are given special consideration to vote in the polls due to their continual participation in that forum?
I don't think your vote went through. You have to vote in the poll at the top of the page for your vote to be counted.Yes , Anjelica , I have said that we are all by nature of being Catholics traditional .
I also said that I would not vote in this poll because of my objection to the forum being labelled "Liberal" .
As a result of some of the posts which have been made on other threads today I have changed my mind .
I have voted "No" to opening up full discussion of homosexuality and same sex marriage at The Lord's Table .
It's a sin. So is masturbation. So is lying. It's not a WORSE sin than lying or masturbation, just another garden-variety mortal sin.You could argue that homosexual activity is not a sin.
I don't disagree. But we are not discussing homosexuality itself in this poll, only whether to broaden the discussion. It's a sin. So is masturbation. So is lying. It's not a WORSE sin than lying or masturbation, just another garden-variety mortal sin.
I don't disagree. But we are not discussing homosexuality itself in this poll, only whether to broaden the discussion.
