Ok new poll since our thread was hijacked... this time no debate in this thread, lets see who wants to pass this -
Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure if this is one of the things our specific congregations can decide T2BC.
The SWRs may apply across the board on this particular issue of FSBs. I'm not sure,
but our specific rules for non-member posting in non-fellowship ways unless they
are in the debate subforum etc., are still applicable and able to be enforced as far
as I know, according to what I read.

I just read in another forum that the FSRs are being removed and that all forums for now have to go by the roughly drawn out rules that Lee posted in the Announcement forum.
I voted yes... on the poll. But it might be a moot point if FSRs are removed.

I do like the suggestion... members 6 strikes and non-members 3 strikes...
Not to be mean or hurtful or unkind, but yes, I think this is fair. Why? Because, this is our safe haven and when non-members come in here and debate and cause strife and they know better, it is disrespectful of them to come here and cause trouble... and they know better and so, they should only get 3 chances.

That was my point. This forum is always under attack and our members are rearly protected...much less by the staff so we shoudl make the rules more in our favor.
