  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

my daughter got Pokemon Black video game for Christmas, and recently she got Diamond. What is the difference in these games? I feel like as a parent I was brought up with Pokemon, my son was into it, went to tournaments locally.

Haha, I used to be addicted to Pokemon, and I had SOOO many cards... I sold them all when I was about 13 and got $300 for them, a nice chunk of change for a 13 year old, lol.

Looks like you're oblivious to the world of video game marketing. They're just periodic iterations of the same game with add-ons. And every so often, they upgrade the game but use the same formula. Pokemon has been the very same since the first two games on the original Gameboy (Pokemon Red and Blue).

Don't misunderstand me - the games are awesome. They are turn-based role-playing games, and there's a reason for its success. The games are NOT successful because of the show/cards. The show and cards were successful because of the games.

And as long as people keep buying the new versions of the game, you'll continue to see new ones popping up every year. And that also explains why they pop up in pairs. So you'll see Red and Blue, then Diamond and Sapphire, then Black and White. Kids and teens are more likely to want both games, which is bank for the developer.

I personally haven't played Pokemon since I was in my early teens. I'm 23 now. I still enjoy the video games but my eyes cannot handle looking at a small Gameboy screen for long. So I can't play them. But Pokemon is definitely a fun and appropriate game for kids to play. I would encourage my kids to play it. It's strategic and much less violent than other games. Of course, there are hardcore Christians who believe that Pokemon teaches evolution, which just isn't true. It's a fantasy world that doesn't even remotely depict real life.

I caught them all.

I work for Team Rocket so I stole them all.

:p
Just kidding. I think I had all of the Pokémon in either the Red version or Silver version on Gameboy. :D I had almost all the Pokémon cards in the first 150. Some of my favorites were misplaced though.
My friend recently started collecting the cards though so I traded her a little and got some new ones... I have tons of cards. I always forget to play the games though.

I am a major Pokémon fan. I did collect them all, plus I got my entire team up to level 100. It's not enough to catch every single one, you've also got to train your team to the highest level.
