Love Is
Love is funny in so many ways
It lightens some moments
It brightens some days.
It softens a heart
Once hardened by pain
It drys up the tears
That sometimes fall like the rain.
Love is always patient
When frustration is at the door
Love is also always kind
And even so much more.
Love is never proud or rude
Or easily brought to anger
Love is not self seeking
And longs to protect others from danger.
Love doesn't bring up the past
With all the mistakes it contains
Love sees the bigger picture
Sees the rainbow through the rain.
Now on the day someone captures my heart
And instantly in love I fall
I pray the Lord's blessing will be known
And in my eyes you can see all.
Forever isn't a longtime
When you're truly in love
And each day as we see each others faces
We will thank our glorious Father above.
