I want You to know me, yet I am afraid
Of what You might see if You carefully look
And how You may feel to discover the things
I've hidden beneath all my pretense and pride.
Yet, You look with love, though I fear that You see
Much more than I wanted to show.
Your lazer-like look healed the raw edge of ego
Stripped bare of hypocrisy. Then I discovered
A Love in dimensions that stretched understanding,
And willingly opened my soul to Your touch.
Now I want to know You as You have known me.
When robes of mortal flesh are laid aside,
I'll wake in Your bright world without a fear.
For I shall see all then as I am seen
And perfectly know as I am now known,
Free from the fig-leaf-like garments of earth.
