Hi, Persis . . . I am Bill . . . pleased to meet you :) Memories coming back to torment us can indeed be how a demonic being is messing with us. So, first can be it is good to pray and trust God to make us so evil things can't have power over us. "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) Then in prayer offer ourselves to God about whatever the devil is reminding us about. And forgive. And check our own selves out, about how we have been doing things. I do not mean to tell you what to do, practically, about this situation. But I find it works best if I first submit to God in order to see how He pleases to rule me in His peace, then see how He enlightens me and encourages me and guides me. And first priority is to care about wrong people and pray for them, with hope for them. Also, in my case, I hold myself responsible to make sure with God about who I trust and how. And if I trust someone, I need to be ready to forgive however that person might fail. Even recently, I have been pushed by Satanic stuff so I have considered suicide in order to get out of a situation. So, yes I do get tested. I am not talking only from theory. If God blesses us with something, Satan might be allowed to test us with the exact opposite. And we can then trust God to do what He pleases with us.
