Well as I have studied meanings of this word, "zoe", I have a question - on which basis do you decide that in this passage aothor had in mind the meaning you quoted, "Life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous and devoted to God, blessed" and not any of the other ones?

To be perfectly honest....because it is what witnesses in my spirit, when I read the passages.

Like I said...go ahead & insert the other definitions and see if they work for you. They don't for me...thats about all I can say about it.

In the Septuagint, Adam named his wife Zoe (life), for she was the mother of all of the living.

Eternal zoe is salvation, for by one man came death, also by one (Christ) came eternal life. Salvation is to be "saved from something", in this case it is death. I think it is fairly straight forward.

Yeah, that's the transliteration of the Hebrew, which means "life giver". The Jews translated the Hebrew Eve into Zoe, for their Greek version of the old testament.
