I disagree about the "opening up"all forums for Christians and non-christians. It has nothing to do with increasing the membership IMHO... There is not need for opening it up to everyone ...There are plenty of interaction in most forums in this site. IMHO they tried to let interaction be open and it failed ... Chirstians left because of this not the other way around....

Indeed, there are fewer Christians-only sections of CF now than there were at its peak.

Hopefully can we get back to those peak numbers sometime soon...

Indeed, there are fewer Christians-only sections of CF now than there were at its peak.

Hopefully can we get back to those peak numbers sometime soon...

When I joined a handful of years ago, the site was divided up into "Places where everyone could post" and "Places where it was Christian Only" -- the former appeared at the top half of the main page, and the latter at the bottom half.

In the bottom half, were places as simple as Life Stages where I am most active (women's discussion, young adults, courting couples, marriage ministry, etc) -- this entire place fell under the Christian-Only category.

None of these are CO now except for Teens, and that change back to CO for teens was only made in the recent past.

The forum has far fewer Christian-only sections today than it did when I joined 5+ years ago.

I think there are a bunch of people posting in the CHRISTIAN ONLY forums who aren't really Christians. It's like anybody who wants to post there can get the Christian icon. I hope someone is going to check on that and make the fake Christians wear another icon.

Communication between members happens no matter what--- regardless of what the Staff at CF decides is CO or not-CO. People should not feel limited by the forums. We meet people here-- the discussions do not stop in the threads and the posts. They continue in IM's, pm's, emails, blogs off-site and on-site, and at other forums.

As for icons--- that got into a huge mess and so Staff doesn't change icons any more. PERIOD. It goes with the whole "only God can judge you thing" though I know Staff will step in when it's a bad apple trying to cause a ruckus in a forum. Still no icon changes--- if people lie that's on their hands, as a Staffer (on LOA right now) I don't ever feel right telling someone "sorry you can't have a Christian icon".

And people need to calm down here about rules and everything. This is the ONLY forum that I know even lets members have a say in how things are run, discuss rules, and debate why posts were deleted or members banned. And I've been at online forums since 2001. STOP COMPLAINING--- you don't like it.. leave... as many members have. I still see plenty of great members here and most aren't ever bothered by rules or FSG's.

Ah. I'm starting to see what things are like here. If you're unhappy with something, then just shut up and get out. That's not a good witnessing tool and it certainly doesn't show Christian Love, let alone any of the individual things mentioned in the Beatitudes or in 1 Corinthians.
