• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay, People are obviously frustrated and upset over the changes to the forum. For those of you who dont know what is going on. This Forum, Survivors of Violence, used to be called Survivors of Abuse. Some people wanted a forum for survivors of sexual assault, as many people see sexual abuse as something that is part of child abuse and something that happens over a period of time. A poll was posted here http://www.christianforums.com/t1981026-just-a-thought.html

In which 19 people voted in favour of a sexual assault forum and there was not one vote against it.

No one too my knowledge, and not publicaly on the board anyway, ever suggested for the forum name to be changed from Survivors of Abuse to Survivors of Violence. We even said there could just be a survivors of sexual assault subforum inside this abuse forum

This forum seems to have gone from supportive to peopel attacking each other. Just trying to try and fix things by posting this.. Thanks for reading

Just an idea: What about

a Survivors of Abuse forum, with threads for physical abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, etc.;

a Survivors of Assualt forum, with threads for sexual assualt, physical assualt, etc.;

a Survivors of Crime forum, with threads for rape, robbery, burglary, etc.;

(I know some of these exist now, but what about this organization?)

Of course, individuals could post new threads in any of these, whereever they think it fits best...

and WHY all the fussing about formats? Aren't we here to help each other?

Peace! :amen:

Then why cant survivors of abuse post there to then?

I am not going to continually justify my ideas.
Childhood abuse is not a violent crime. It is one of coercion and deceit.
Rape is not, It is forcefully done.

Does that help you understand any better ??
I will not do this again.

Edited to add: I wanted to apologize if I seemed rude or abrupt earlier.
I did not mean to appear so.
