Okay, sorry.

Is it true that in the days of Jesus, that the culture of the Hebrews, or of the Romans, (whatever source of content Paul would be speaking out of) that even if a man had serval sons, they were as servants unless the natural father "adopted" or "designated" or cermonially selected one to be the "son?"

Usually the "rights" went to the oldest ... I think ... but what if a Hebrew father of many sons saw that the oldest was unfit to take on the "family business" and run the business?

If a Roman citizen was the father of many sons, to whom would he pass on the authority of the household or other things.

What is a Bar Mit.. (sp?.. forgive me)?

What happens if a son does not succeed in his Bar Mit.. ?

Yes, I am sorry, I am refering to the Sons of God.

I was told that the Sons of God (Rom 8) that Paul was talking about were mature and not children (childish). I was told that because of the culture that Paul was writing from did not just put the rights and priviledges onto the immature and irresponsible.

Thus, when the Sons of God are revealed.. creation will rejoice, but Not every born again christian is a Son (or Daughter) of God.

I was trying to validate the culture Paul lived in. Sorry, I had so many thoughts in my head...

It is here when the first born males are also redeemed [bought back] from service to the L-rd and service to the Levites as repayment for the sparing of their lives on the last night before the Exodus from Mitzryim [Egypt].
