No, I think that's indeed a prevalent opinion among CofC members.

Technically, the church, the movement, was founded on the idea that denominational differences and rivalries ought to be foregone and Christians should just take as dogma what the New Testament church did and taught, as indicated by the Bible--and nothing more.

However, although the church uses the slogan "Christians only, but not the only Christians," they are not that ecumenical in practice. As a result, they are often accused of having a self-righteous attitude towards other Christians with whom they disagree on some policy or other.

I've been looking into the churches of Christ myself. I'm Baptist, so they aren't too different from what I believe.

There is a congregation near me, and I admire the goal of the Restoration movement.

However, I reject replacement theology and I believe there is still a role for national Israel, and I am a Zionist. I'm not strictly premillennial, though.

I'm also undecided about baptismal regeneration.
