• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I’m worried about something I believe got my belief is slipping slowly very slowly and very fast I was thinking of looking at testimonies and proof of Jesus maybe that would help but I could be two options I look at the proof I have a panic attack and I thought to get worse or I get my faith and believe how it used to be but I don’t know what to do I don’t want to give up I’m not going to it’s that I set an a little room all day and I stare at like the ceiling or on my phone looking for talking so I don’t know what to do in the situation should I look at proven testimonies or should I just wait I’m not at my parents right now foster care so should I wait until I go back or should I do it now or not do it at all

Hello @Jesuslove70708, there is never a better time than right now to sit at the Lord's feet and grow in your knowledge and understanding of Him and of His word, and of His GREAT love for you too :)

Whenever I feel like I'm getting farther away from the Lord, and that He may not love me like I once believed that He did (or that I don't deserve His love .. or even deserve to be called by the name "Christian"), I go back to the foot of the Cross, because from there it's far more difficult for Satan to convince me that God doesn't love me (as I begin to remember all that He went through to save me and give me eternal life, and then subsequently, all that He continues to do for me today :amen:).

Did you know that God's love for you, as one of His own children, is from everlasting (just like He is)? That means that there was never a time in eternity past when He chose to love you, because He has ALWAYS loved you, and He always will, both now, and forevermore :)

Jeremiah 31
3 The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying,
"I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness."
And it is on the basis of this and similar Scripture verses that Pastor Charles H. Spurgeon said this (as the closing thought to his February 27th evening devotional, from Morning and Evening),

"Everlasting love shall be the pillow for my head this night."
Jeremiah was also the basis for half of Missionary Elisabeth Elliot's radio broadcast opener (on her daily show called, Gateway to Joy). Please see the graphic of her broadcast opener at the bottom.

I also like to find ways to practice the presence of God in even the smallest things in my life, remembering Him by praying to Him in the midst of whatever I'm doing, thanking Him and rejoicing in Him (for EVERYTHING/ANYTHING that comes to mind).

The Apostle Paul helps us stay strong in the Lord by giving us practical ways to begin to practice the Lord's presence in every moment of our lives with instructions such as these:

1 Thessalonians 5
16 Rejoice always;
17 pray without ceasing;
18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

It's hard to find your faith waning when you are constantly reminded of how much your heavenly Father loves you :) If you find that it has slipped away a bit, then start at the Cross, thanking Him for that, and then for everything else that comes to mind.

It also helps me to hear the word of God preached on a regular basis, so you might want to try one of these sites as a means of daily encouragement (and for new ways to thank Him and rejoice in Him) along with listening to the testimonies that you spoke of in your OP.

Praying for you.

God bless you! (Psalm 103; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

--David
p.s. - I didn't stick as closely to your OP as I would have liked, nevertheless, I hope that you find at least one or two of the things that I posted to be useful or encouraging.
