My friends of the SDA forum;
I have just returned from a short leave of absence due to some physical disability issues. I have returned now and hope to be able to continue to serve you as a moderator for your forum.
Upon returning I found once again several reports made over only a few days. Again let me encourage those active on the board to continue to use the report function instead of engaging in flames on the threads. I have noticed a few trends and I wish to address them in this thread.
#1 The easiest of these is to address is the issue of debate on the non-debate subfora. To this point we have been moving threads that end up in debate to the main SDA forum. However this is not exactly just to those who start the threads and purposely place them in the subfora; so from this point on debate posts in these subfora will be deleted. Please refrain from debating on these subfora so that we do not need to take this step. Making the decision to remove posts is not an easy one and we do not take it lightly. We would much rather avoid having to do so.
#2 We are looking into the 3ABN issue and will get back to the board on this one, however until we do there is no CF rule preventing the respectful discussion of this issue.
#3 There are rules on CF regarding flaming persons who are important ones faith. However stating that one disagrees with a person is not a flame. More specifically stating that one does not believe EGW to be a prophet is not a flame. Attempting to prove that any of her writings are faulty is not a flame. However stating or implying that those who do believe her to be a prophet are less intelligent, deluded, or spiritually deficient (all have occurred in one form or another) is a flame and will be dealt with from this point on diligently.
Examples of what is acceptable:
I believe that the writings of EGW were not inspired.
I believe that Scripture proves this belief held by EGW to be incorrect.
I feel that the SDA Churches would do well to place less emphasis upon the writings of EGW.
Examples of what is not acceptable:
EGW was a crazy woman.
Those who believe that what she wrote is inspired deny the truth of the Gospel
Her writings have been proven to be false.
#4 We are still having a little bit of an issue with non-member debate. Also from this point on we will be very diligent concerning this issue, we will be deleting debate posts from non-members and issuing warnings.
#5 We are still having issues with members accusing other members of not being truly SDA. This is a violation of CF Rules and will be dealt with according to CF Policy.
