I am drawn towards homosexuality. Please pray that God destroys my perverted desires so that I can be drawn towards Christ.

The flesh will always be there, but by the grace of God and His Spirit that dwells in those who have faith in Christ there is power to overcome. Shoot always for what is right; seek God and the truth; don't listen to the lies of the fallen ones; flee from fantasy and stay rooted in reality. Just remember always that there is peace with God for those justified in Christ Jesus by faith (Romans 5:1). May God's will be done, brother.

Shame. Condemning your desires produces shame, and shame will result in continued behavior in that direction. And you might be condemning it because you're afraid, or you are influenced by other people or what have you.
Until the shame is dealt with in your thinking, pretty sure prayer is limited.
Because you can pray it off of you by authority. And even should you pray it off, it will come back, because as soon as the thought occurs, you will feel ashamed again, and that shame means you identified as though the thought were true about who you are.
It's then an identity issue.
You would have to not be ashamed for it to work in a lasting way.
Now what wordily people do is they "get rid of their shame" by coming out of the closet and getting people to agree with them and support them... even though they remain uneasy about this, that's why they're having to march in parades and what have you, where people support them in their choices. If you're doing the right thing because you know it's the right thing, you require no one's support, you simply do it in the face of opposition because you do it for God or your moral cause or what have you.
But you see, when a person is free of the shame portion of this, there is the ability to also go in the other direction... this is the key point to discover.
We can be free of the shame, and also free of the behavior and thinking. With the shame gone, it's a lot easier to also lose the thinking surrounding it.
As long as the shame is there, it continues. As much as I have learned, prayer wont fix this... confession will fix it sometimes in some ways... but really, thinking differently and not being ashamed is the only way to be free. After you're not ashamed, you don't have to choose to be homosexual, your choice. But it's the fear that keeps the shame around.
Now... if you want to press in that direction in prayer....
"Shame go in the name of Jesus!"
"God, expose why I am afraid."
"God, give me wisdom to not fear this fear!"
"God, I accept and believe the thought you just gave me to not fear. I now live this and reject the false idea I believed before."
"Fear, go in the name of Jesus."
That is the way out of the conundrum of Shame and fear mixed like this.
