CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Today I pray for Dan's family. I pray that his wife and kids are getting the support that they need from friends and family and I pray that the Holy Spirit will wrap them in His loving arms and comfort them as only You can Lord. I pray that his son's heart heals and that his older son will learn how to deal with his pain and sorrow in a way that allows him to become the person you created him to be. I pray that they are a close family and that they would be even closer now. I pray for a positive update on the son's condition.
Lord I also pray for others here who are hurting. There have been some unnecessary changes here lately that has caused some of us more pain than we needed. I pray that those who are hurting will reach out to someone or even reach out to us if they need to.
Thank you Lord for continually letting us know each day how many lives Dan touched while he was here. I know I am not that kind of servant Lord, but I am proud to have known Dan even if only on here. I am also proud to know the men and women that have shared here, who knew Dan IRL, some of who have served with him. I pray that you comfort them also Lord for their pain is greater than those of us that only knew him online.
And his legacy will live on, because even in death he is still inspiring others with how he lived his life before his injuries. Please let his wife forgive him for re-upping without her knowledge or consent. Please let her understand that it was just his time and she couldn't have changed anything. Please don't let her take her grief to the grave. Let her heal. Let her find someone to walk thru life with her and to take care of her and her sons. Let there be men that knew Dan that would step up and be a mentor for the boys. They need it desparately Lord. Please let the boys know that they are strong like their Dad but assure them they will not be like him in how he left the earth. Just wrap your loving arms around them Lord. Protect them from evil people. You are their Redeemer Lord as your word says in Proverbs 23:10-11.

Amen Michelle. I also want to add in special prayers for Dan's aunt and uncle who took him in when nobody else could. It seems they have kind of been forgotten in all this and I think we should be praying for them specifically. They obviously have very kind hearts and I pray they don't carry any guilt for what happened. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

So true bobross! I haven't forgot about them, but you are right, I have forgot to add them to my prayers. Lord forgive me! They were his saviors when he needed someone and I pray that God will bless them richly for that. I also pray that they do not feel guilty of what happened and they can find peace. Lord Jesus wrap your loving arms around them, for they were your hands and feet for Dan when he was with them.

Lord, Please cover his room with grace so it doesn't carry the aura of death in their home. Let it instead be a reminder of his life and a room of peace.

Also I lost another friend to suicide yesterday. My buddy Mike Britton (he is the one in the Orioles sweatshirt in my post on Dan's thread). Just pray for his family please. I'm sick of this.
