I'm still struggling with my clinical depression, but just when things are getting better, something bad happens. I don't understand why. I'm at one of the lowest points in my life. I pray all the time, but I don't feel very close to Him. Please pray with me so that I may feel Him again working in my life and that He will help in the latest set back.

The Lord God knows exactly where you are right now. Although I have not been diagnosed with clinical depression, I recently had a severe bout that latest a few months. It was the usual slow start and then worked its way into a tormenting stage, up until a few weeks ago. Excessive weeping, sadness, anxiety, fear, etc. and just utter hopelessness. I cried out to the Lord and all I could whimper was Help! Help! Rescue your daughter Lord! Help! It was a pretty tough time.

However severe your bout is, then you need to pray with the same urgency and momentum. In addition to praying Ephesians 6:10-18, whenever a bad thought would start up, I would say aloud, "NO! In the name of Jesus Christ I take this thought captive and command it to submit and obey Christ right this moment, right now! Until the thoughts leave.

May the Lord's Shalom peace blanket you with the warmth of his love and security. In Jesus' name. Amen. I will pray continuously and fervently on your behalf.
