I have gone through severe abuse as a child.I grew up in a very dysfunctional home.The abuse was in every way possible.I am asking for prayer for healing of all the effects of the abuse.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ann, I'm sorry for you. I've had a toxic childhood too. Are you in therapy? Does your husband know and support you in your search for wholeness? A small group at church also helps. And finally talking about your struggles on here helps you and helps others who struggle. Not feeling like you are weird or ruined completely, or all alone helps all of us who have dealt with that sort of garbage.
I will add you to my growing prayer list. Wow, it's amazing the different things we find out that people need prayer for, eh?

Thanks for your understanding and prayers.There are two churches I have began attending,one I do not think they have that type of help available.The other one much further away ,I think it does,at least for if a person needs prayer.I sense alot of genuineness and God's love there.I may ask for prayer there sometimes.I have asked for prayer there twice now and they did pray sincerely for me.I am very thankful for that.I tried to get therapy a few times.I really like CF .Many people here who are wonderful.I know I have things to sort out.I know I need prayers.I cry easily.I am reaching out to Jesus ,I know He heals.Yet I know people need each others help as well.
I am on ocd forums quite abit.

Do you have someone you can talk to? Abuse usually creates lots of pain, and you can get pretty fragile as you work through that. Someone there for you can be so helpful when that happens.

I don't really have anyone, to talk to.I wish there was someone to talk to, that I could trust.I did see a counsellor for a few months at the beginning of the year.She is a very kind and helpful christian.She saw me for a greatly reduced price from from what is normal price which was so kind of her.She really cares for people.I am thinking maybe go see her again.I do feel quite fragile.
I am reaching out to Jesus , I know Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and I know Jesus gives us strength.

If you don't have anyone (where is the real, caring church?) then getting back to your counsellor could be a sensible. It's extra hard facing hurt alone.

The one church further away ,they will pray for you and have prayed for me a few times.However they are a very small church and not sure they counsel.I think I may go back to the counsellor I was seeing at the beginning of the year.
