  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have always been moved to adopt a child. When I married my husband, we discussed this and he was not in favor of it at the time. We did agree that we would continue to discuss it from time to time though. We then decided that we would try to have our own child first. We did. He's now over a year old and the most wonderful child.
I'm now 36 and would love for my son to have a sibling. I'm concerned that there could be difficulties for me and my child if I have another. I have been talking to DH about adoption again.
Please pray that God speaks to us about our decision.
Any advice on agencies or how or where to start? I"m really confused about all the agencies out there.
BTW, we are considering adopting out of the US.

I'll definitely say a prayer for your family.

Just recently an acquaintance of ours adopted abroad through a highly known christian organization. There was still a ton of paperwork and the usual routine, but it was much cheaper and faster.

Because I'm not sure if it's okay to post the actual name, please pm me if you're interested.

God Bless You and Your Family!

I will be praying for your family.

Adoption is truly a God thing.

I also just wanted to say to be patient and have a listening ear. He will lead you to the particular country in the right time.

Also there are countries that allow Independent adoptions (ie: Ukraine where we will be adopting from) where an agency is not necessary.
