We have put our house up for sale. As much as I love my home and I'm not looking forward to moving again (I've lived in about 30 different places during my lifetime) and even though we said that this would be our last move
... we realized after the last few visits by elderly family members that stairs can be a difficult obstacle ... so we are looking for something on one level. Also, if we get something on one floor then we can revise our foster parent files to include handicapped children in wheelchairs/crutches.
Even though we've only been in our home two years - we can list our house for $30,000 more than what we paid for it. After paying off the commission, what we owe on the loan, the five percent necessary to put down on another house and the expenses for two closings ... we could still have enough left over to cover house payments for one year (that is my goal - to have enough in savings to pay our house note in case something happened to my husband/his job) ... if we get the full price for our house.
The house we like is very close to the park/pool/walking trails and is within the same school district and the same mileage to my husband's job/our church. We are going to look at it again tomorrow night and then decide on whether or not to put a contract on it.
So, I guess I'm asking for ya'll to intercede and light some candles for us, that we get a miracle price on the house we want to buy and that we get the full asking price on our house.
That's not too much to ask, is it??
Thanks!
