I just found out my mom's friend's oldest son was killed in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. He was a tremendous guy, with a servants heart. He served in the Marines and came back and founded an academy that "empowered others through personal development and education." His mom was a key figure in my Catholic formation, she's known me since I was a kid. And what makes this that much sadder is almost 20 years ago Jeremy's dad was killed in a motorcycle accident too. I can't even begin to imagine the grief right now.
If you can remember Jeremy in your prayers, it would be appreciated.
Also, that same weekend another friend of mine, his mom committed suicide. AFAIK she wasn't Catholic, and it sounds like there was a history of mental illness as she had attempted suicide a month earlier. On the off chance she was Catholic, perhaps you could pray for the repose of her soul as well. I don't know her name but my friend's name is James so you could refer to her as "James' mom".
