  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My mom died tonight at 7:45. She was 85 and had been in failing health since September. Words cannot express my sense of loss. I know she is in a better place, that she is happier now than she was here and sick, but I miss her so much. Please pray that I can be at peace about this.

May the Lord embrace your mother and give her peace; may you and your family be comforted and have strength now, and in the days ahead; may you have peace and courage, and may your broken heart be mended; may you have patience and perseverance during this difficult transition in your life, and face the coming days with courage. :prayer: My dad died at 52 on December 31st, 2004. God allowed me to be comforted in a mere three days. After that, his death still makes me miss him, but I know I'll see him again, except without all the arguments, the stress, pain, issues in life, and distractions. It'll be much better when we meet again.

Know that your mother has had a long life, and didn't die young. Treasure the time you were blessed to have with her here in this life and know that that time isn't all you'll ever have. The nxt time you see her, there will be nothing but happiness, no sad, angry, or painful times to remember. Know that she is being comforted by God as a woman wandering in the freezing cold in only a t-shirt and shorts would be if she were to pass out, be rescued by some people and brought to a warm cabin to heal. That is what has occured, and as she steps out of that cabin, she sees that Summer is here, and there is no more cold, lonely wandering.
