  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please pray for me y'all

Hey people. The power of prayer never hurts, so here goes.

Saturday, I ruptured my achilles tendon playing soccer and tomorrow I go in for surgery to have it repaired. Needless to say, I'm a little nervous about the whole thing. :(

Please pray that the surgery will go smoothly and that the recovery will be quick.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

I am now back at home. I'll fill you in a little.

As I said before, I tore my achilles tendon while playing soccer Saturday morning. Initial examinations by a couple different doctors said 80-90% torn. After surgery, it turns out that I had suffered a complete tear of the tendon. The surgeon made a 5 inch cut in my leg and pulled the ends back together. Fortunately, the ends were pretty clean (not frayed) and he was able to sew a couple large pieces together. Hopefully this will result in a very solid recovery. The stiches in the tendon are permanent. The surgeon said he was pleased with the result.

So I now have a temporary cast on and go back in a couple weeks to have the stitches in my leg removed and a different cast put on. That cast will then be on for another 6 weeks. Then I go back and hopefully have a walking cast put on. Total recovery time is an estimated 6 months and I may never get full muscle mass back in my calf. I plan on proving that wrong though.

So thank you all for prayer. Now I have to deal with the money issued involved in this. There is a gray area with the insurance that I won't get into. Let me just say that I ask for continued prayer that the money issue will work itself out.

God bless y'all

Scot

Update .....

Thank you all so much who kept me in your prayers.

It's been 3 weeks. Initial plans were to have me in a cast for close to 8 weeks before I was placed into a boot cast. Well, it's been 3 weeks and I am out of a cast and into a boot cast :D I can place some weight on my foot already and I have quite a bit of movement up and down in my foot. The doctor was impressed that my foot can almost move up to a neutral position before I start feeling any sort of pull or pain. This is good news. My calf on that leg has shrunk noticeably, but since I can put a little weight on that leg and move on it a little bit, hopefully that will begin to recover some of that muscle mass.

All in all, it sounds as though the healing is going very well and is quite a bit ahead of schedule.

In terms of the financial questions that I had ..... things seem to have fallen into place and it doesn't appear that it will be a problem. As always, God has taken care of me :)
