• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I feel a little jealous about how well some of you are doing. Many have found drugs that have helped them, many are able to work, able to thank God so enthusiastically etc. My condition just keeps getting worse. I do thank God and am not giving up and want desparately to know Him better but am struggling a lot.

And I wonder how many lurkers there are in the same situation as me who don't post for whatever reasons.

For those of you who like to do written out prayers as posts, could you please pray for them? Thank you.

Heavenly father, we first of all want to lift lemonflavor up to you in prayer, we understand he is not doing that well and we want him to feel your strong arms around him. We want to thank you for Lemonflavor and we want him to know how much we appreciate him here on the forum and how much we look forward to his posts and his verses and prayers. We ask that he have better days than he's been having until his appointment on the 27th.

We also want to pray for any lurkers that are on this forum tonight or any other night Father. We know how hard it can be to make the first post. Help them to find the courage to post and "meet " the others here. We thank you for every person that this forum touches. We ask for relief and healing for each person in pain who is "lurking"

In Jesus' name we pray

Father God, we join in prayer today to ask you to reach our brothers and sisters who are struggling with this illness bipolar. Help them to have insight from your Holy Spirit to understnad that they are loved and worthy and forgiven. Help them to break free of the feelings of guilt when thay are depressed, for this is simply part of the illness and not the truth, for as Christin we know there is no more guilt for it was taken care of at the cross. But we struggle Lord, we feel like there is so much more we should do or be, Lord help them to rest in you and your love. Give them and their doctors wisdom when it comes to medications. Lord, Help those of us when we are doing better to be able to speak openly and honestly of the hard times, let this give them hope, not only that we understand and have been there, but that they also can feel better with the right treatment and hard work. Fill their hearts and souls with the Holy Spirit gifts, the gifts of love and joy and peace, give them a glimpse of the future and hope you have planned for them. Help them to know that they do make a difference here on CF and to those around them. Lord, when they feel alone in their struggles and in their life, help them to feel and see that they are not alone. Help them to remember that even when it feels like you are not there, that you are, that you have promised to never leave or forsake them. Father God, help us all to remember that we do not have to be "normal" to be loved by you and to serve you, that we do not have to have "a ministry" to serve you. Help us all to know when to rest and when to push. Open our eyes to the beauty you have surrounded us with. Father God especially for those who feel like they are the only ones "not able to" or "not" that we all struggle with those feelings, but that the truth is we are enough for you , Father God just as we are, just because you chose us to be, hellp us to understand in a new way today just how precious to you we are. Help us also Lord, not to overcommit or take on too much during periods of mania or when we start to feel better. Lord, help to calm or fears when we begin to feel down or better or whatever, that this is a mood swing or a relapse. Father God we acknowledge that you are in control and we ask that you give us insight form the Holy Spirit if we need to pay attention and get help from our doctor. Lord I ask that you would intervene and help make acces to care that is needed and medcicines that are needed and diagnosis, no matter where the indidviduals live. Lord, help us all to learn more of you and to keep our thought processes clear even in the midst of an illness that loves to mess around with those very thoughts and feelings. Lord, when the mood changes, help those around us to have insight and to understand what is mood generated and what is real. Protect those around us from hurt feelings and misunderstandings. Help us all to recognize that often our dissatisfaction and complaints in a relationship can be magnified by our illness, but help us to make the changes needed in our relationships and not just to blame it all on the illness. Lord, that request sopunds impossible, but I know that you God, the Lord of Lord is able. So we ask these things in your son's Holy name, AMen

Lemonflavor, thank you for your honesty! Everyone, please forgive the run on sentences and poor punctuation and bad grammar, but God understands all I am trying to say!!! :)

I feel the same way as you! And although I havn't posted those thoughts, that's exactly how I feel.

If you would like to share the info, I would be interested in knowing what kind of treatment you have had?

It's mainly been this site and some of you who have helped me to just get through the day!

Private message me anytime, maybe we could compare what treatments we have tried etc..

I've gone through just about every anti-depressant and have been on Lexapro for about three years. It helps a little with anxiety and I get much worse when trying to ween off of it but not sure how much it helps.

To augment Lexapro and as a stabilizer I've tried Seroquel (parathesia), Risperdal (nausea and hypomania), Trileptal (marginal help), Lithium (nausea, depression) and Lamictal (only went up to 100mg) and am now going off of Zyprexa.

I also take Ativan which helps a lot and propranolol. I want to try Lyrica or Neurontin. Then Remeron for sleep but if I take 15mg it causes anxiety attacks. Right now 7mg isn't enough so I augment it with generic Benadryl or Unisom.

I've been in couseling before but can't afford it right now.

Every major stress sets me back and I never fully recover from it. So I feel like I'm eroding.

Anyway, I really wanted to just pray for lurkers who may be struggling and not posting their prayer requests. I figured there must be some out there. Good to hear from you.

Dearest Heavenly Father,

I know Your heart aches to see Your loved ones suffer.
Lord, You know each and every person who visits this forum and site. May they see that others are suffering as they are. May they see the support, love, encouragement and prayers that are here.
Lord...the sufferers who have found the right med cocktail or seem to be doing so well, may the sufferer who is struggleing just to make it thru the day see this as hope for them. May they understand that even tho meds and lifestyle are working now, at this moment, at this time, there is no promise that a "relaspe" will not happen. That the person who seems to be doing so well...might end up in need of these same people, to pray and remind them of the hope there is.
In Jesus Name, Amen
