Please pray for everything

I'm asking whoever reads this to pray for somebody I love. He's a Christian. Please pray that God will protect him from satan's attacks, that the weight of his negative thoughts and feelings be lifted. Please pray for him to be closer to God, to have a direct & consistent relationship with Him, to stay on the right path, and pray for him to be able to enjoy his life and the blessings he receives. Please pray for his ministry. Please pray that God will help us grow together, and that he will guide us.

Please pray that I will become a better person through God, so that I can be a more positive contribution to the people I care about, the world, myself etc.

Please pray for my mum, she has a condition and is in pain all the time... and she's stressed about her finances and job, and where her life is generally going.

Please pray for Lisa, her partner, and their 2 kids. She has low self esteem and her partner is an abusive alcoholic. Please pray that God will help them, and intervene in their relationship.

Please pray that God will guide Chris and Bec, and their marriage.

Please pray for Emma, she doesn't know her purpose.

Please pray for everything that is alive... that there will be less pain and suffering.

Maybe this is wrong to ask for, but if you want to, please pray for people that left it too late, or didn't completely understand, and ended up in hell.

Please pray for my father... and people who do evil things.

Dear Lord I am praying for our friend "observer". I am praying that you will guide her and show her the things that will help her turn her life around and change her thinking. Please watch over her and her family, friends and neighbours. Teach them to understand your grace and faithfullness. Lord I thank you for guiding us all here to this internet forum. Thank you for blessing our lives by guiding us towards good and righteous people. Lord I thank you for the wealth of wisdom you have given me and I thank you for giving me the courage to compose this prayer. This is the first prayer I have composed on this forum. I pray that you will bless each and every one of our members. And to guide more lost souls and rightous souls to this forum. We will be eternally thankful to you. We have strength in numbers and That strength will be divided and placed into the hearts of each of our members so that we will be able to serve you and honour you. Thank you lord for saving us. Please continue to watch over the people close to "observer" and bring forth good people to guide them as you have done for every member in this forum.

You have such a tender heart and I'm sure God hears your prayers and knows your heart as well. He sees your requests. While it is too late to pray for those who have gone on, I do agree with you in prayer for all your other requests and that our precious Lord will hold you in His arms.

Observer, thank you for being bold enough to put all these out for prayer--we should all do more of this! Not just waiting for the most important "deserving" ones. We have this great opportunity for a prayer network!


Lord, I agree with observer's requests, and ask that you give her strength to stand firm in you as she's tossed and pulled by the needs of others in her life. Breathe your life and love through her as she spends time with each one, and may your goodness overwhelm everyone.

Please pray for everyone who doesn't have a computer. Let's face it, anyone who can afford a computer is probably doing alright and doesn't need that much help compared to most people in third world countries. If you are reading this right now on a computer, you probably live in an industrialized country with a high standard of living, have access to good education, safe food and drinking water, you don't have to worry about warlords or armies driving around your town shooting at you, you have access to good health care and don't have to worry about catching some horrible disease from a mosquito while going about your daily business. Most people on earth are not as fortunate as you.

Don't waste your prayers on healthy, wealthy Americans and Europeans, pray for those kids in Africa who are starving to death with flies on their faces and probably also have AIDS too, passed on from their parents who are now dead of the disease. There are millions of people out there suffering in horribly miserable living conditions, but God just sits back and watches them suffer. Millions of them. It's been going on this way for years and years and years, so maybe Christians aren't praying hard enough. Stop worrying about your friend's wife's sister's cousin who doesn't know which school to go to or whatever, and start thinking about the people who really truly desperately need help just making it through the next week.

Better yet, here is a challenge for you: don't pray, but instead put your money where your mouth is and take the initiative to accomplish what you would usually pray for. If you are so concerned about somebody, then go out and do whatever it takes to help that person, and then pray to God for help after the fact, be it financial reimbursement or time off from work, or whatever resources you had to sacrifice to actually physically help someone here in the real world. You could do it tomorrow if you just put your mind to it. So instead of sitting there praying, get up and do it. Make it happen.

You don't have to go all out and sell everything you own and give it to charity, let's be reasonable here, but you should consider the possibility that the answer to your prayers is that God wants you to take the initiative and do it yourself.

Truthmonger, you are so right, we have life so much better where we are.

What you might not know, is that many of us have sacrificed portions of our lives to aid in impoverished areas; that is common practice in Christian circles. One of my friends running a center in South America, another is trying to coordinate international orphanages for children of AIDs victims, two others are teaching shepherd boys in Africa how to read, one spent her whole working life as a nurse in Africa, two others spent five years building town wells, two others work part time so they can coordinate medical missions trips and work one-on one with patients and surgery teams in Asia, and spent a month with the tsunami victims, many friends help distribute food to shut-ins and the unemployed locally...I will bore you if I go on.

You are right, we need to care about more.
