  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please pray; facing homelessness.

Hi everyone

Our LandLord is selling his property which we rent from him.
Once it is sold we have to move out. We will have no where to go.

We are filling in forms to go onto various Housing Lists including the local Council. We desperatly need a House with at least 2 bedrooms ( preferably 3) and a garden. This will be a miracle as usually such housing is given to families, and we have no children.

We've been praying for a long time for the Lord to give us a house with a garden. Not just for our own needs but to use it as a place of quiet retreat for others to come to. For fellowship, relaxation & an overnight stay, free of charge, if needed. We live in a village and would love the Lord to provide our new house in a rural area too. For the very reasons above: a place for others to come, to experience peace and a haven from pressures of life for a while.

Being here in this village has had positive health benefits for us too - we're diagnosed with severe disability ( that God will heal ) that the slower pace of life and country surroundings has been therapeutic for us. A definate answer to prayer.

Please pray that the right Buyer comes along & that the door is opened for us to have a House with a garden in a quiet, peaceful, rural area. Just like where we are living. That it will have a minimum of 2 bedrooms and we are able to keep my "support" dog. She is not officially registered as a "support" dog as she is really a Pet. But as I have agorophobia I need her to help me when I go out. She has been used by the Lord to help me regain my confidence & we both value so much, how her presence has been a real aid in my recovery and getting independant.

A few miles away is a Bible College and since being here I have longed to be able to offer to students there, a place to come to - for fellowship or even somewhere to live for free whilst they train for Christian Ministry. God giving us a House from the Council or local Housing Association would enable us to offer such a free home to a fellow Christian.

We would be allowed to have a Lodger, but not a Tenant. So as they would not be paying rent it would be ideal.

Your prayers are really appreciated. That we continue to know peace over this situation of being "homeless" and that we trust the Lord for Him to open the door and provide.

Bless you
Gentle-Heart

 Gentle Heart, you also have a gentle and giving spirit. I hope that everything works out for you. Your heart is SO in the right place! YOu will be in my prayers, and may the Lord guide like-minded people to your door. I also hope with ALL of my heart that your animal companion will be able to remain with you because of the comfort he brings you with your struggle with agorophobia; It is completely understandable!!! I wish something could be done in such situations to have such an animal legally deemed a "support" dog. YOu will be in my thoughts as well as my prayers. God bless you!!!

:) Thankyou everyone for your prayers.
Appreciated so much.

We are waiting for an appointment with one of the Council Officers at the homeless department, which should be quite soon.

Our home has been seen by quite a few people who are considering buying it, but no news yet of anyone placing an offer.
We continue to trust the Lord in this, though it isn't always easy when naturally things are uncertain.

So right dear sister, it would be so good if my pet dog could be officially recognised as a "support" dog. I did enquire about that via Citizens Advice Bureau. They emailed various disability associations but could not offer an answer. All their dogs were registered after training for the blind, deaf etc. So they contacted our Local Council but they had not come across this situation before so could not help.

I'm praying though that when we are interviewed by the homeless section with regard to our circumstances and needs, I can explain how our dog helps me and that she can live with us in the new home. She is getting on and had such an unsettled life before we "adopted" her, it would break her heart and mine if she had to be rehomed. So in this unusual circumstance I am certainly praying the Lord will move on our behalf. That as a first she will be recognised as a "support" dog. I'll ask the Lord to lead me to the right people/places for that.

So thankyou so much from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers. Do keep praying, for the Lord to give us a home and for our continued peace.

Bless you loads,
Gentle-Heart

:) We have an appointment on Monday with a Council official in the Homeless department at 10.00 am UK time. That's Monday April 5th. Please pray this meeting goes well. That our needs are represented in full and we can be offered the housing we want the Lord to provide, as in previous post.
Many thanks

I hope that it goes well on Monday! You will continue to be in my prayers. Concerning your "baby", I will look for an anwser. If I might ask, what state do you live in. If that's too personal, PM me. I ask, as legalities vary state to state. If there are "support" dogs who can detect seizures, which would be difficult to prove, yet they are still recognized, there just has to be an anwser! I TRULY hope so. You will be in my prayers, and I will post back as to whatever I find concerning your "baby".
God bless Gentle Heart!

Oops...Just realized you're in England!? Is that so? Do laws vary in areas there? For me, that's HOPE! Laws there are MUCH more sensitive to mental health issues. A Little off the cuff, I just read another of your posts. I refer to my dog as my "baby", so please forgive me if I mis-used a word here. I didn't mean to be insensitive.
