• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

please pass the soap!

Yes, it would be great! I have written journals before but never stayed with it, and upon moving so much and my faith slipping from me I threw what little bit I had away:cry: Isnt that AWFUL???

I started one about a year and a half ago and kept it good for a while and every now and then I will write something new in it, I think we all need to keep one, so I think I will very soon:idea: thanks for the reminder!

 what kind of things do you, or would you journal about God and your spiritual exsperiances?

me? when i was a teen, i tried to commit suicide. i ended up in the hospital for almost a month, and from there, i was transfered to permenante mental health care. i was already a ward of the state for mental health issues. so. when i decided to end it all, i chose serious place and serious way. my plan was perfect. God had other ideas though. an EMT (ambulance tech)... decided he was restless and went for a walk out into the dessert.... AN EMT. ofcourse, he saved my life.

details are astounding and amazing. but i don't like to share them. i will say, that i was 150 miles from the hospital. i should have died.

That's awesome to hear how God stepped in and held onto you. Not sure why you wouldn't want to share astounding and amazing details. There is power in our testimonies and God uses our testimonies to free others. Never be ashamed or embarrased of any details, it's those details that help others related and you never know who needs to hear them.

my experience is similar in many ways, like you I should be dead from suicide now. I guess He must have huge plans for our lives, goldenviolet

God bless you continually....

i don't want to share details, because open like this, i don't want to give anyone ideas. i minister to others who would get ideas unhealthy for themselves, like triggers. :(

I definitely understand your point, as obedient timing is very important in ministry. As long as we remain open to the Holy Spirit and open up by sharing our testimonies when we are told to all will be fine. As crazy as it may seem, someone might have to have that trigger go off for them to hit bottom so they will let God come in to free them. The ministry you are in is not an easy one, it’s one that God has already equipped you to handle – so I say, glory to God for creating you and I pray that He continues to elevate you and the ministry He has birthed in you.
God Bless, your sister in Christ.

S - scripture

O - observation

A - application

P - prayer

scripture:
Colossians 2:7
Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith.

observation:
God is calling us to be like trees, with His will as our nurishment.

application:
investing in the will and word of God is creating my roots to go down into Christ's nourishment... i will be like a tree and grow. and bear fruit too.
prayer: dear Father, thank you for bringing to attention how i can grow. Father, let me have your will and purpose in my heart as i attempt to live as you would have me. in Jesus' name, amen.
